Seems tall. Would have preferred Waterman in for a small and Allen down back, rather than adding Edwards, but if there’s anyone to try it against it’s the treacle slow Carlton.
Edwards back allows Hough and Ginbey to play small and run of and create
Oscar back would mean those two would have to cover for Oscar when he didn't chase or follow close enough

Great changes imo. Keeping the youth in while dropping out of form senior players, and bringing in some gun forwards to try to add some efficiency to our forward sorties.
It doesn’t matter how much we lose by, because it’s about getting games into the youth and seeing if they’ve got what it takes.
It also lets senior players know if they don’t perform they can be dropped. That’s how it should be.

Land of the giants all of the sudden again. That said the changes are good, I rate Long but he is in dreadful form.

It's not really land of the giants.

We were a tall defender short last week and Waterman's a really good runner who applies a lot of pressure, as well as being a huge threat himself.

From the WC Presser -
“Tim has missed out this week. We’ve been really clear with Tim with what’s required of him within his role,” McQualter said.

“Tim was really understanding, disappointed as you would expect, but we are really supportive of Tim that he’s going to get back to his best footy.

“It’s about picking a team and rewarding the right behaviours every week and a team that can win each game of footy.”

On debut last round, Tom Gross added some spark to West Coast’s onball brigade and Harley Reid flipped from half-back for some centre bounces, while Clay Hall has added some grunt around the contest.

“We’re trying to pick a team that can really complement each other,” McQualter said.

“Clearly we’re going to be a bit younger in that space, that’s obvious, but that’s also exciting as well.”

I’d make J. Will sub. Get Bailey to shoulder almost all of the rucking duties for close to 3quarters and then being J. Will into the game in his expense
Nah, Jwill is the sub off or Archer. Hutch will be sub.
First game back from injury they'll protect him by making him sub.

Reckon JWill will be sub.
Bailey to run to exhaustion in the first half keeping up with TDK then swap out with JWill.

I'm looking forward to watching the game on the weekend, i prefer to watch a new bunch of faces get beaten than the same old faces. Playing the same old players week after week and still losing is not looking at the long term. O/k you say they aren't ready for AFL so ? Mini please keep playing the young guys and see where it takes us.

We probably will get flogged. But every player now knows McQualter will drop you if you don't comply/perform

And isn't that a refreshing attitude change from past few seasons.

I for one absolutely love that Mini has dropped Kelly and Cole, nothing personal against either of the two players - BUT - every player in the entire squad needs to fully understand that you play as you are instructed too do and abide by all the team rules - AND - be in form .
The failure to tick either, or both of these boxes, has consequences

If we still get flogged what are the "credits crew" whingers going to complain about next?
Usually most people argue for playing an older team to try win the game.

This is the first time I've seen someone arguing against a younger team because they'll still lose.

Sweet Jesus. I go to the pub for work drinks, nurse a couple of pints for 2 hours before calling it Get home to discover Tom Cole AND Noah Long are dropped! FDM that's the closest thing I've come to a grand final in years, should be passed out under a bench by now if the ol phone hadn't gone flat. Harry Edwards and the Hutchinator back too, my stars.

Impressive if that is what you read from my post.

I will spell it out for you if that’s easier?

I’m not against the younger side at all, all good ins and necessary outs. I was saying that the whingers on this board will always find something to complain about and “play the kids” is just an excuse to whine until they find something else.

Predicting that next it will be “no those are the wrong kids! Shit drafting and trading by this club”
