Re: Round 6 changes Vs Melbournce

The last two weeks, Lynch has been very good. For some reason he is now a marking machine

10 marks today, some contested ones, a team high 6 inside 50s and he didn't aimlessly blaze away all game.

As I said previously, Lynch is getting faster at training this is allowing I reckon to time his leaps.

Kennedy is also getting faster allowing him to do the same.

THe training continues to be intense and these factors will continue to improve.

Now just for LeCras to come back and we can squeeze into the top 8.

What people dont realise is that even guys like Stevens are improving at training and in a few weeks will be ready to knock everyone over.

The more muscle we get we will be stronger.

Re: Round 6 changes Vs Melbournce

Out: Dalziell, Schoey/Brown (one too many talls, Emac is better defensively than both), Nico (wasn't bad, but think there's better options)
In: Hams, Strijk, Shep

Where do i sign?

Re: Round 6 changes Vs Melbournce

Not necessarily a last quarter sub but maybe someone who can come in fresh at half time and provide a bit of X-Factor up forward once Kennedy has his customary mid game fade out?

Yes, just like today. Wished they'd subbed Kennedy out at 3/4 time today.

I didn't mean to sub Kennedy out...regardless, perhaps if he'd have managed to stay in the game for 4 quarters we wouldn't have needed him to kick a couple of late goals to help us fall just short?..

Out: Schofield, Dalziell
In: B.Jones, Hams

I have been generally supportive of our selections this season and I think our often criticised tall forward line has been particularly good. However, Schofield in the side and Hams out of the side is the only one I can't justify. Schoey has really struggled in every game both defensively and with ball in hand and doesn't seem to have a natural match-up with MacKenzie back in the side. I think Hams can add something to both our forward line and midfield in short stints.

Edit: Bones just got injured, if that's bad then maybe look at Swift or Sheppard to give us another midfield option.

Swift is offering nothing on TV. Haven't seen Shep play WAFL, the Melbourne game will be a three week break for him - is he running into form - confidence?

Brett Jones is a favourite but even if not injured he is doing nothing today to be rewarded. Looking to the future how is Brennan travelling?

Its to early to call changes.

Will any players from todays games be asked to play in the WAFL next week?

This is a sensible man.

The issue can not be avoided though.

Schofield is potentially the best of the young backs but I fear for his place in the squad. I'll go against my head and stick with my gut, I think we should persist with Schofield leaving Brown the odd man out.

After today's game I think Dalziell will ask to play WAFL next week. Another 35 disposal game for the sharks will push his name up for selection again.:(

Gaff might be a chance to play for Souths given his little game time this year.

Under pressure :

Brown and Schofield - at least one of these guys has to go.
Nicoski - I think he's doing enough to hold his spot but I know others on this board disagree.
Dalziell - Offered nothing, don't know why he was selected in the first place
Lynch - Still think we lack mobility with him in the side but he is contributing

Pushing for selection :

Weedon or Strijk - One of these the most likely to replace Nicoski
Hams or Broome - If we want a crumbing forward rather than a tall like Lynch
Swift or Stevens - Midfield to replace Dalziell
Sheppard or Stevenson - To replace either Schofield or Brown

Lynch? Lynch has been sensational this year, better than his 06 form (excluding the goals). His work rate and contested marking have been a highlight.

I think we're too tall up forward especially since the sub rule means that we are playing Cox or Naitanui as tall forwards - leaves Lynch as one tall too many.

That said, Darlings mobility has been a surprise and Lynch has been contributing pretty well. I thought we looked better today with Kennedy closer to goal and Lynch up the ground.

(On Swift) Bullshit. Had a good game.

I think we need to hold the phone on Swift.

While he may get a lot of the ball, his disposal still isn't at AFL level.

It's noticable he still lacks confidence, and it will do his cause no good by rushing him in, especially when so many other players are in good form atm.

Let him keep working on his skills, and hope his confidence rises throughout the year.
