When you say last 4 weeks, you mean finals? So what your saying if instead of having 7 trades..having 8 is much better? ;) (If he has no injuries that is :))

Yeah, but he will only have 7 left in two weeks, so, that means he hasn't to go through about 8 weeks not using a trade ready for finals.

I personally feel he has jumped the gun. But, thats just me.

Pretty happy with my team at the moment:

Backs: H.Shaw, Cornes, Bock, Bradshaw, Mattner, Gram, Ibbotson (Proud/Selwood)
Mids: Cross, Deledio, Salopek, Priddis, Stevens, Palmer (Houli/Geary)
Rucks: Cox, Simmonds (Kreuzer/Meeson)
Forwards: Franklin, Brown, Pav, S. Johnson, Burton, Porps, Rioli (McKinley/Gamble)

14~ trades left, 50k in the bank.

Anyone see any trades I really need to do this week? Cash in McKinley?

I'd be trying to get another gun into the midfield. Dunno, maybe trade Kruezer down to a rookie, then Houli up to Ablett/Bartel.

I'm looking at getting rid of McKinley as well. My forwardline is Roo, Brown, Porps, Burton, Pav, Rioli, McKinley, Gamble & Tippett.

The cheapest upgrade is from McKinley to BJ, only costs about $100K also BJ should go up in price after the next game. The question is will BJ again become the consistent high SC scorer he has been in the past?

I do have enough cash to upgrade to any forward the others that spring to mind are Chappy, Franklin & O'keefe, but I was thinking of upgrading maybe Rioli to one of these. The other option would be to do a midfield upgrade of Griffen to a gun if he continues not to score well, Chappy as a mid maybe?

Anybody have any views on which would be the best way to go?

That's the million dollar question. I'm like you, and many others I'm sure, who
would love to grab BJ at the price he's at, but am not sure if he's turned the corner form-wise. Dunno if he's over his injury completely yet either.
I'm going to wait until next week and see if things are any clearer then.

Another tough one. Even though I'm reasonably happy with my forward line, I'd like to find room for ROK as well. I'd hang onto Rioli for a while longer though.

I think if I had to make the choice, I'd prefer a midfield gun, if you can afford the likes of Ablett/Bartel.

Agree with One Eyed Hawk about trading Houli up to Ablett/Bartel. Would hold Kreuzer for now. Meeson getting no game time so Kreuz your only Ruck backup and Rucks are injury prone.

Instead look at trading out Gamble or McKinley. Would suggest Gamble as I think the Geelong fwds (Chappy, Mooney etc) will come back into form and may impact his effectiveness or push him out of the side IMO. McK a good bench player as he will continue to get games under his belt, and I think he has some growth to come.

Looking at getting rid of Hill this round & wasn't happy with the downgrade options around atm so it looks like an upgrade will have to happen.
My question is who would be my best option out of the following -
Richardson
Okeefe
Pavlich.

My current forward line - Franklin , Burton , Porps , Rioli , S.Johnson , j.Brown & Gamble (emerg. Hill & Tippett)

Cheers:thumbsu:

Traditionally Pav has been the gun forward player and O'Keffe has always been very consistent. Richo has a new lease on life now that he is playing wing and the Tigers are actually competitive. If you want to task a risk go Richo, otherwise Pav will average 110 for the year and I suspect O'Keefe will too.

i need some more advice i have Scott West, he has missed out on allot of games this year so far and looks like he wont be able to play like he did last year. I will have 546,000 to use to trade to another player but i'm not sure who to go for, Dalsanto looks pretty good atm. Also i still have Josh Hill do you think i should down grade West to, Houli or Palmer and then trade hill for a Gun.
thanks,

Im definitely getting Heath Shaw and he will be my last upgrade for a while. These are my options....

Griffen (6th Midfielder) --> Browne.
Nicoski (Currently on the bench, but Taylor is my 7th back) --> Shaw.

OR...

Tuck/Bird (bench midfielders) --> Browne
Mattner/Jones --> Shaw.

The question is will Browne score a enough to be my 6th midfielder for 2, maybe 3 weeks?

I'm leaning towards getting rid of Griffen, and upgrading Nicoski then my backline will be awesome. Fisher, Shaw, Stiffy, Bock, Birchall, Mattner and Jones. And, my midfield will look like this... Stanton, Stevens, Judd, Cross, Scott Thompson and Browne. Will then look to trading Stanton out for a Dal Santo, and upgrading Browne in a couple of weeks.

Thoughts?

with those 7 trades left my team is set. No changes required, so barring the unlikely event of 7 long term injuries i should be fine. I think 3 long term injuries would be extremely unlucky and that would still leave me with 4 trades that i can use for fun come finals time. If you read what my team would look like after using the trades, (leaving 7) its pretty strong and should carry me through to finals time without a worry.
Im also only aiming for the league win, if that makes any difference to you.

What a mixed up topsy turvy world life as a supercoach is.
First I hear King out for 4-6...then it's just a cracked bone and could be back after the break.
Now I hear Cam Cloke is out for 4-6 with a broken hand - so Mr Hampson lazing about doing nothing on the bench will hopefully get a run for the blues!
I don't know whether to celebrate or cry.

I've found it works the ther way around.

If you're just after League glory, then I'd be trying to save as many trades as possible.
To finish as high as you can in the overall scheme of things, imho, requires a bit of risk/luck...

In both years of SC so far I haven't won my League in either (same guys both years), but finished the highest overall by a LONG way.

I tend to eat up a few trades early as well...exactly like you, I plan to have 7 left after Rd. 10/11 with the team absolutely set, so hopefully we'll have a bit of luck on our side. :thumbsu:

Does anyone know how much gametime Steven Browne and David Myer had last week? Really torn between the two as a cash cow. I'm assuming both will get games but Myer seems the SC type player (effective, long kicking etc). What do you guys think>?

Not sure about last week, but over the two games Browne has had 70% game time. Myers had 61%.

I guess it does require a bit of luck, Iv been pretty much in a similar trade position in both my previous year of SC in my league (also same guys every year) im probably in a little better position than previously, and iv finish in the grand final in both the previous years, winning one and losing won. So as far as i can tell from previous year im right on track. But yes it does require a little bit of luck. fingers crossed!

Dal Santo wont be that cheap for long........
Just depends on which area is the weakest. Either trade looks good though, but Westy is meant to be out for quite a while.

Look, ya could be right. I just don't reckon you'll have a enough for a good team come finals. But, thats just me. I still got 16 left, so I like saving mine until the last rounds.

my next 3 trades:

Out: N. Jones - about to plummet in price. BE is 100 odd this week, but only going to increase over the next 2 weeks with his previous good scores, and his 7 last week.
In: S. Browne - cash cow.

Out: N. Thompson - too inconsistant.
In: B. Johnson - what a bargain

then next round...

Out: C. Bird - price has evened out.
In: J. Bartel - B/E of 200 this week. Surely has to drop in price.

if bartel burns I'll just upgrade to another gun mid...

after the trades my team should read:

Backs: Bradshaw, Roughead, Milburn, Kennelly, Goddard, C. Cornes (Wonaemerri/S.D.Thompson)

Midfield: Bartel, S. Thompson, N. Stevens, N. Dal Santo, R. Palmer, S. Browne (C. Bartram/M. Coughlan) [regretting having coghlan in my team, should be back soon though]

Rucks: Cox, Simmonds (Kruezer, Gardiner)

Forwards: Franklin, Burton, Porplyzia, Rioli, J. Brown, Didak, B. Johnson (Tippett, J. Hill)

thinking about this, want to know your thoughts

IN-s browne, chappy
OUT-houli thompson

Houli hasn't quite maxed out in price yet but as this is your last chance to pick up browne at an affordable price it could be a good trade. Chapman has been distinctly average lately but could be a good pickup if he can resume his round1-3 form. Alternatively if you have the cash you could look at getting a forward that is in form like Buddy, Pav or Richo if you don't have them.
