Upgrading Proud this week to avoid a zero but who to choose -
Current backline Shaw , McLeod , Bradshaw , Taylor , Wonna , Ibbo & Proud (emerg. Chornes & Selwood)
My thoughts are Proud to either Johncock / Bock / Milburn or P Burg.
Thoughts:confused:

Don't think you can go wrong with any of those four. I chose to put Bock into my team this week, though Burgoyne was definitely tempting.

Important game... Must win!
OUT Symes IN P Burgoyne

For second trade what do you think of OUT akermanis IN BJ ?
BJ will be play a pivotal role in the dogs run to the finals. Looks like he has bottomed out... must climb from here. Akermanis looks like he has peaked in my books

Interested to hear thoughts..?

BJ rumoured to be injured or indeed carrying one.

Last week 120, and week before 80... Not bad for a guy who is apparently injured and with a week off ( 2 weeks rest ) His price is bargain basement.. has the potential to sky rocket if he recovers/finds form

Wouldn't mind knowing the rest of your forward line if Aker's on the chop!

59 last week v. Sydney...the rest have been great. (Well, good for sure...)

Remember Johnno kicked 4 goals last week...

...I still think 80 each week is far closer to the mark than 120.

1- Houli out for Wellingham to free up some cash
2- Some no name from Port out for H. Shaw.

Still have to play 1 zero in defence, but I thought it better to use the money from Houli to get one gun than two mid-priced players for Thompson and Proud.

Seems you've made your decision.

Good luck.

Gonna try posting this again...

Issue #1.
My backline is in all sorts of trouble. Currents backs are: Cornes, Shaw, Gilbee, Newman, Birchall, Ibbotson, SDt, Proud & Hansen. 13 trades left, $118k in bank. (that money is virtually all spoken for though: see below)
Obviously, with Cornes, SDT, Proud & Hansen, I am looking at playing 2 zero's this week. Am thinking of trading Hansen for Myers this week, but would welcome input on where others see a way for me out of this hole.

Issue #2.
Less pressing, though also an issue, is... I've been planning a Houli---> Bartel upgrade for next week.
But I don't know whether to do the Bird downgrade (which will pay for it) this week or next.
Should I do that this week and get Browne, or let Bird go up ever so fractionally and take the punt that Wellingham or another good rookie mid will be there next week?

Have a similar situation.

On the backline issue, I'm taking one zero this week and trading out Thompson for Myers next week (had some other trades I had to do this week). Was waiting for Thompson to get to his three games, which he's done, so I've still made money on that - now I'm dropping him like a hot potato... since he certainly doesn't seem to be in Laidley's plans for this year.

On the midfield issue, I'm looking to upgrade Griffen to Chapman or Kelly next week. I've downgraded Bird to Browne this week, as the cash difference will ultimately be negligable.

Alternatively for you, you could do something radical (sacreligious, even) and consider dropping Chad for the time being to someone $100,000 cheaper who still averages around 100 points a week (ie Milburn, Bock or Kenelly). Use that money to upgrade your midfield, and use the Bird trade to consider bringing Chad back in later in either the midfield or defense. A bit of a bolder, riskier option admittedly, but still...

also having back line problems!

Out: Bird, Waters (should've pulled the trigger a few rounds ago )
In: Browne, Johncock

Go Stiffy!

If you don't need the cash for Bird until next week then you might as well hold onto him until them because even he is capable of making his breakeven of 27.

I've joined the bandwagon and brought in Browne this week, only made a shade over $100k from Tuck but it should be enough to upgrade Wowerri in a couple of weeks.

I'd rather hang onto him, as i think he should probably rise (slightly) this week. The consideration though is am I better off cashing him in now so I can grab Browne before his price rises, or wait till next week and take the punt that Wellingham and co. will be as good a buy as Browne?

ey boys, hows this for a trade...

OUT: Mattner, Symes
IN: Macdonald, Bock

now my defence reads..

Shaw
Macdonald
Bock
McLeod
Guerra
Osborne
and rookie players SDT, pfieffer n proud

yeah i know ill be a man down, but i should still win this week.. mattner was too inconsistent... next week ill trade out houli/t.tuck and a rookie defender so my defence will be complete for the year:)

quick question fellas, should i:

upgrade thompson to BJ, then next round hope that i can get chappy for bird (only $30,000 off atm, and chappy is falling and bird rising)

or

trade in thommo for a rookie and use mckinley as my worst forward (currently on bench) then upgrade bird to say priddis next round?

here's what im thinking:

this round: tuck down to browne, thomo down to jacky (mckinely as worst forward - hes still averages in the high 80s so should be ok for a few rounds)
next round: bird up to priddis, waters (the bastard!) to campbell brown
round after: aker to BJ

Dont like those trade except for tuck to browne.

Jacky is good on the bench not on the ground (wont make much cash, wont be in all year)
I wouldn't rely on McKinley to score in the 80's most weeks he had a couple of good ealry games which is good for cash but is coming back to the pack as rookies do (i'd budget for 60's...but still could pull out a 90 never know), he has also just about maxed out in value if he hasn't already.
Campbell Brown key defender = stay away. better value around i recon.
Aker has been more consistant than BJ this year has only really had one poor scoring game against the sydney...which happens to most of the comps mid's (ablett execption). I can see the upside in BJ tho (if fit!!!)

Bird to Priddis is fine. Priddis = gun!

that's all i want to use him for mate. What other forward options are there for $94,200? Smith, Daniher, Ross, Sellar, Jacky - who would you take?

Yeah i agree. The problem is im a first year player so i didnt pick a good first round team. currently my forward structure is brown, bradshaw, fevola, rioli, aker, tredrea and thomo (mckinle and vezpremi on the bench). Mckinley has been more consistent than thomo, so i think its best i get rid of thomo and chuck in mckinley for the next few rounds till i can upgrade.

Who do you recommend around the same price point? im currently $6000 short of brown, so can u tell us someone just udner him in price? maybe pick up leo barry or mattner?

BJ is def as low in price as he's going to get, and i can see him really switiching it on the 2nd half of the season - more so than aker. worth a punt in my opinion.

Indeed :)

Should I trade Porps to B johnson. I think Johnson is getting bacvk into form and I could see him averaging 100 points from now on. Porps however hasn't been up to scratch lately and has only had one good quarter for tyhe last couple of weeks. Also I'm thinking of changing Cale Morton to Browne. I still have 16 trades up my sleve and am in a good position. Thoughts?

How many good quarters has Johnson had?
