After reading the other thread, I was starting to doubt myself in relation to Essendon supporters. But now after reading this one, I feel alot better.

What a bunch of chumps - you'd think people would just enjoy that their team played a good brand of footy and pushed an in-form team hard. You don't have to post any congratulations - in fact, you don't need to post at all!!

Unfortunately the half a dozen decent blokes could not keep the barbarians out - but we've got your number!!!

Can anyone advise on who Hocking was running with? I thought Monty and Dal had some very damaging possessions, but Hocking was very good the other way (so obviously mitigates our man's output). Trying to do my votes - not easy although Lenny was great again.

Roo and Kosi kept bobbing up when needed, but didn't mind CJ keeping Stanton to 7 kicks and no score assists (even if his kicking was a little askew).

From how I saw it Hocking was up against Dal Santo. For the way Nick has been playing this year and some of the moments when Hocking got away from him and caused quite a bit of trouble, I'd say Hocking came out on top. Wish I could say the same for Stanton and Jones...

On that topic I'll give my top Saints and then stop polluting your board. My old man is a Sainter and we agreed on these after the match.

3. Jones - Superb tag, had Stants dusted for the whole game.
2. Hayes - Always putting on the pressure. When he somehow slipped unnoticed behind a ruck contest from a throw, in picked it straight up and goaled early in the 3rd was all class.
1. Dawson - Got on top of Neagle from the start of the 2nd and shut him down completely.

Seriously, the bottom line with those toolish Essendon supporters is that they are absolutely SPOILT. I really credit Sheedy for his magnificent coaching career, and say congrats to the Dons for having won their flags in the 80s and 90s. But some Dons supporters has got it into their heads that they are obligated a free, a fifty, a game, a flag, a flipping dynasty!

My family had one of the most disgraceful fans I have ever heard behind us during the game. EVERY time a Saint had the ball for a millisecond it was BALL, and then hurling totally unfair abuse at the umpire. He was hurling abuse at his own players, "Jobe Watson, you're a disgrace!", "Houli, what the hell are you doing?" - dude, they were some of your best players. And in between cheap petty insults to our players. I honestly don't know why he goes to the footy, he was so down on everything, he couldn't possibly have been enjoying it - unless he was there to just make it unpleasant for everybody else. My 12yo niece, who is as gentle as a lamb, was seriously distressed by the tool - and all the while I was wondering, "Gee, is he one of the morons we've seen from the Dons on BF this week?"

I really want to acknowledge those Bombers supporters who have come on here and been gracious in defeat. Top class, shining even brighter with the filth that have come on here. Your team played well today, and I think you've got a great future.

Let's move on to Brisbane this week, and put these horrid people behind us. A disgrace to football.

I have a good mate who's a pie supporter and he's quite tame at the footy, but I like to think he's one of the rare learned pie fans.

Also, to Itwasagooday, I think you're referring to the grog squad who stand behind the cheer squad. Not my cup of tea but to my knowledge they never cause harm and most songs are quite funny if you listen to them, prefer them over our actual cheer squad who cheer by knitting harder than each other.

Well, with round 7 taking its sweet time being finished we can look onto round 8; the high flying Bombers.

They are paying inspired, fast and attacking football. They remind of a school yard game. You run as fast as humanly possilbe, give it to someone else who does the same and find a forward. It's great to watch and I'm sure it will be a big close game.

Not sure if we will make any changes, IMO King will probably return if fit? What is up with him? Did we rest him against the Pies as they lacked a 2nd ruckman? Then Macca came in.. weird...

I'll go with OUT: McEvoy IN: King.. If not, probably no changes... Won't know till later in the week I guess.

The Bombers will throw everything and will be fresh off a great win over the reigning premiers and with the belief that they can take down the more favours sides. Their pace and the extras 3 day break worries me. I mean, you can't have every team with the same break, but them getting 3 more is a fair mistake by the AFL. If we're good enough, it won't matter

I'm picking a close one, with the Bombers getting up by 17 points.

I agree with the general sentiment that the whole "I'm better than you cause my team is more successful or just won against your team" is a load of crap.

But not many Saints fans indulge in this sort of stuff (not here anyhows), so I think the poster got a little carried away with him/herself.
