It's all Peer Gynt Suite for me this fine morn...
The things you learn on Big Footy. For anyone else who had to look this up: "Peer Gynt is a five-act play in verse by the Norwegian dramatist Henrik Ibsen.....Peer Gynt has also been described as the story of a life based on procrastination and avoidance" The suite is the music composed by Edward Greig.

Finished the replay and it confirmed my suspicion: we didn't actually play that well. Epic second quarter but didn't do much in the fourth and had a pretty average third.

Daniher kicked five but only took three marks and had just one set shot - that FK in the first minute. Raz kicked three but didn't get going really. Tippa was solid and kicked two but was a little errant with a few of his kicks.

Our forward line has carried this side all year but for the first time this year, our mids stepped up and carried us. Won the I50 count and did what all the good sides do (especially middling sides like Geelong), use their power in midfield to mask problems around the ground.

Really good signs that we're getting better and even when our forwards have a down game, we can still win (and by 10 goals!!!)

Couldn't be happier. Anyone else feel the same way?
Sharing responsibility is what all good sides do.

The less we rely on a few players the harder it will be for opposition to stop us.

Exactly right. Our play forward have centre have carried the team so far this year, so pleasing to see the mids help out when despite the goals we kicked, our forwards weren't at their brilliant best.

Hartley had a howler early. Really worked well into the game and I can't fault him after that time.

I obviously can miss a lot sitting at one end of the ground but i thought he played really well.

Was going to post something similar - aside from the overall 'all played well', this was Hartley's best game since coming back in, particularly as the game wore on. I like that he got up the ground as an option, clunked some marks and used his good kicking as a weapon (aside from the first kick howler). Hopefully he builds on that.

What a 24 hours!

- Massive (and 4-quarter!) Bombers win.
- Liverpool give themselves a great chance of Champions League next season.
- Pull an SC win out of the fire to go 5-3, having started the season 0-3

Get around Stopher!

Chance?

Pretty sure they are certain at the expense of my team!

Smashed a top 8 side on our home deck don't know what else you could ask for imo.

He is one of the nicest guys you will meet.

If we are talking about Dermie, I suspect he plays it up a bit as he knows we get a kick out of it, I know I enjoy Dermie trying to say nice things about Essendon.

I watched him yesterday and he was having a laugh with Harvs and he took a few moments to talk to a few bomber fans, even taking photos with them, did laugh because one of the kids at first refused to shake his hand before accepting the offer to take a photo.

Ta, saved me the trouble. And i too have done absolutely nothing today

That was awesome. Took my 3 y.o. daughter to her first game and she loved it, especially the plane animation on the screen after we kicked goals, managing to stay interested until the last 15 minutes (I kept asking her "where's Walla?" any time she started to lose focus and it worked a treat).

I'm still trying to work out how much it was due to us playing, and how much due to west coast being awful, but we are definitely improving by the week.

Don't be fooled by Brereton's "nice guy"/"just having a laugh" persona. Read what he said (I think it was pre season) about the suspended 34 and how the club was using growth hormone and other illegal stuff besides TB4. It was totally unsubstantiated, and vicious. Make no mistake, when he is serious, he hates Essendon with a passion, and he is an arseh*le, albeit with an ability to seem like a lovable larrikin when he wants.

At least he admits he hates us when he's commentating just makes it even more sweet when we win.

Did you notice his commentary around the Sam Mitchell tripping incident yesterday? His loyalty to Sam Mitchell is very unprofessional. Needs to realise he is being paid to commentate and that means being objective.

I'm happy for commentators to have an opinion, as long as he's not framing it as a fact or providing opinions in lieu of the facts (i.e. not giving facts at all).

Sure he hates Essendon, and openly admits to having been scared by Essendon so no I'm not viewing him as a nice guy, as I wrote I like listening to him trying to say something nice about Essendon players despite hating every second of it.

It was very short on fact and very high on opinion.

Essentially he expressed the opinion what Goddard did to Mitchell was really really bad etc etc etc - left out the fact that it was retribution for Mitchell kneeing/tripping Hooker.

I personally loved what Goddard did to Mitchell, was sticking up for his team mate. Had it have been a close game Goddard would not have done it - a bit that Brereton conveniently left out when expressing his strong opinion.

Also expressed an opinion that booing of Mitchell by Essendon fan's could hurt out chances of winning etc etc etc....

plllllease Dermit.
