Rove is a bee's dick away from being actually funny, rather than try-hard funny. The 30 second promos airing on Foxtel ATM are embarrasing. I'm yet to determine though whether this is him pre-writing jokes or if it's his genuine spontaneous humour.

That said, the show isn't bad. I caught the ep with Kevin Smith and I think he was trying to work out whether he could take jokes as far as he wanted to. Missed the one with Steve Carell.

Didn't he try to do some show in the states a couple of years ago that completely bombed? When will someone tell this bloke he's not funny? 7PM project and BEfore the Game are crap as well, if they weren't from his production house, I doubt they'd still be on air.

Agree on 7PM Project, but I enjoy Before the Game. It will never be The Footy Show, but decent.

I was disappointed with the guests, Lang is old and lame and LL is very immature on screen and it stands out even more with someone like Hall right there with him.

Rove was decent again though, pretty funny even if he does laugh like a girl.

I don't think ratings were the reason. He pretty much struggled after Belinda passed away and then had the whole new flame thing to work in. Probably just wanted a fresh start. I recall he had headed over to try out for a talk show before all this (may have been something to do with Conan, not sure) but nothing came of it.

On last night's show, John Krasinski was great and Stone Cold and Ty Burrell really got into it as well. The family photo was crap this week though.

Again, the format where you have 3 people all adlibbing on the couch at once is so laidback and enables them to be more informal in their responses.

I'm going to keep watching. There is such a diverse range of guests they can have on, and they are basically on tap. Well I think they are, for as entertaining as Pink is as a person, she is an Australian talk show regular these days and as the only announced guest thus far, I'm hoping they aren't already going to the well and calling in favours.

Really starting to like this show Stone Cold and the young bloke were very funny and the gun range segment was hilarious

I've watched a few episodes now and it is nowhere near as bad as i thought it would be, he is actually getting some pretty good guests.

Ty Burrel, Stone Cold, Michael C Hall, Eliza Dushku, James Marsden and one or two others have all been fantastic.

Rove just tries too hard to be funny, he also has a really fake laugh when he's pretending to be interested in other people's stories. I also hate all the pre-recorded stuff that he does, especially the halloween one, when he was pretending to be scared it was absolutely cringe worthy.

tl;dr - Surprisingly good show, guests are funny, Rove needs to tone it down.

It's interesting. I think we have a bit of 'don't embarass Australia' cultural cringe going on, whereas the guests seem to genuinely enjoy the change of pace from other talk shows on the circuit they endlessly trudge. Mind you there are only so many shows and way too many celebrities so many of them may just appreciate the added exposure.

Note that you can't drop the F Bomb on US TV (well those big channels that advertise anyway) so they would appreciate the fact that they can say whatever they want on Rove.

He is cringeworthy, and to be honest, The Stone Cold/John John Krasinski show would be just as good with an audience member reading the questions. They were entertaining enough on their own.

Only tuned in as Im a huge Office and wrestling fan, but John Krasinski was actually more funny in person than the dialogue written for him in this season of The Office.

I have watched it in bits and pieces and the concept is OK I just am not a fan of Rove and his style. I don't think he is embarrassing us over there and good luck to him. But as an interviewer and host I find him tedious.

I think the shows going great, and definetly not so "cringeworthy". I think people are just more critical because it is an Australian in America (eg. Hamish and Andy) or maybe it's because I'm a fanboy.

Amazes me with how good the guests are, and it's definetly one of the highlights for me when I'm watching the show, waiting to see who's gonna be on the couch.

Rove is a pretty bad stand up comedian, find them okay at best, definetly not his strong suit. The way he is in interviews is pretty good, but would have to agree that sometimes he does try too hard to be funny like last week with Pink, Jim Parsons and someone I can't remember.

Last week probably had to be the most cringeworthy episode I've watched, had to skip a few scenes because of it.
