Its been a fairly bad year so far for rucks. Only Cox is averaging over 90.

Most Premo rucks of last year have already taken a huge hit to their pricetag. Mumford has dropped almost 90k already to bargain basement price of 340k. Mumford, Maric, Roughhead, Jacobs, Giles even Lobbe have almost bottomed out. Goldstein has had a couple of quiet weeks and should drop in price over the next few, Picking the right guy to jump on in the next couple of weeks could make or break your season.

So whos it going to be?

I could stick with Cox and Berger until a premo finally steps up. But I need to take a risk or two to get myself back up a bit this year. Will try and pick one to jump onto soon.

I currently have Cox and Rowe playing. After Rowe's performance this week just gone I may have to fix it up. The reason I have Rowe as my second ruckus because I wasn't confident in any other premium ruck at the time and when leuy became available I had other concerns I needed fixing up ahead of getting him in. I feel as though that train has now passed so my thinking is maybe waiting for goldy to bottom out and then pick him up in 2 - 3 weeks. The other rucks I will be keeping my eye on are Mcevoy and possibly Mumford. But Mumford would have to show some form before I pick him up

I've got a question for those who are thinking of sending Cox to forwards via DPP. I am keeping Cox in my rucks due to him being the highest averaging rucks. I feel as though he is easily the best ruck, but in the forwards there are plenty of options who will average around the same, if not more than him which to me feels like a waste of a forward spot being used on a ruckman.... I hope that makes sense, brain not working this morning - mondayitis.

What are peoples views on this?

My thoughts are something like.

Basically list the top 7 forwards and top 3 rucks I am aiming for. Cox will be in both I assume and after that I will remove 1 of the 10 people and see where Cox ends up.

Maric + Leuenburger, with Cox in my forwards

Ivan hasn't quite scored at the price I paid for him, but is averaging a solid 83, with not a lot of variance in his scores. Given the general mess in both the rucks, and the rest of my team, I've been reasonably happy with him.

yeah i've had maric from start and watched every tigers game, from the first week on he has looked low on confidence and a bit shaky and was obvious he wasn't worth his initial price but i've always had higher priority trades to make & now he's dropped to about what he's worth. he's the type that will do nothing and still get 80 so it's hard to feel an urgency in trading him out but it'd be nice to see him start looking like he actually wants the +6s and +12s that would push him over the top

Rucks are doing my head in. I cannot have Blicavs/Daw in R2, it has ruined my score every week. R2 averages about 35 for me, so I might get Luey in while I can. I cant upgrade to anything premium so this is the next best thing. Forwards are not looking too crash hot at the minute, if Maric comes down to 400k then Cox might end up in the forward line.

Luey is definitely a premo, no need to trade him unless he gets injured....

Will spend even more time resting up forward, so that will only help.

Naitanui certainly an option in a few weeks too. High chance of playing this week, so give him a couple to make sure he is fit and firing and he could one to bring in.

I'm most likely going to be trading Maric for SJ next round and moving Cox to the rucks to have the Cox + Leuy combo. Once (if) I make that trade I definitely see Cox being in my rucks for the rest of the year. There is no point having Cox in the forwardline if there are more than 6 forwards who will outscore the 2nd best ruck this season.

If at some point Leuenberger drops off then it is a simple matter of trading him to the best available ruckman, hopefully by that stage Kreuzer and Sandilands will be back and Maric will be in better form! Naitanui is potentially an option too.

Cox to Gawn this week, grab the cash then decide between gawn, rowe as my R2 behind looney - grab Kreuzer after 2 or 3 weeks back as suggested - by then gawn or Rowe to Kreuzer will hopefully only cost about $150K or so.
