Rumour: Been told that we are on the verge of signing not only Mick Malthouse but also Paul Roos as joint head coaches in 2012. This may be too far fetched in my opinion as I personally don't see a reason as to why Malthouse would leave his next post at Collingwood to be a joint coach, and the feelings Roos' wife has towards living in Melbourne, but the gentleman that I got this information from is connected with the club, has absolutely no reason to lie or create a garbage story like this if it wasn't true or being worked on.

Time will tell, but its inevitable that Ratts is gone either way at the end of the year (unless by some miraculous happenings we win the flag).

Enjoy

Sorry, don't buy this for a second. Neither Roos or Malthouse would agre to anything yet and our club will give Ratten the benefit of proving himself this year. Not to mention that the idea of having two of the most succesful coaches of the modern area sharing the job is ridiculous.

I'm sure that Swann and Co have been investigating a Plan B should we struggle this year but I don't for a second believe that anything concrete is in place. If we finish top 4, Ratts will keep his job.

1) Roos and Malthouse would never agree to be joint head coaches
2) Coaches for 2012 wouldn't be close to being agreed upon before the 2011 season has already started
3) Those two together would cost close to $2 million/pa

It aint gonna happen ............

It'll be interesting to see how it plays out. Keep us posted Shmurf.

1) Roos was joint head coach with Longmire last year (yes as a part of their succession plan) but it was as a joint partnership.
2) If we can get this over the line, my word it can be done and will be done.
3) Even if it cost us 3 million which it probably will, we have the funds to support it.

Coyne, i'm not suggesting that it is guaranteed to happen, its what i've been told by someone who should now something about this. As i said, he has no reason to create a story like this if it wasn't happening or if it wasn't being worked on. Remember the last time you didn't believe me in what i posted, a week later i was proven to be right.

I don't post rumors i hear if i don't trust the person.

Not saying your full of it, but this is a little hard to believe. I'm mean sure we'd be trying to get one of these two...but both at once???

IMO these are the two best coaches in the AFL.

I don't want Paul Roos as a coach for the following reasons:

1. His appointment will see us play that boring, lock down Sydney style of football.

2. He always used to have digs at us for "cheating".

Told you all of this in September last year!
Old news....

Couldn't give a stuff about point 1 if it got us a premiership.

Point 2 is fair, but money talks and he's a fantastic coach. If he came on board, I won't particularly care what he's had to say about us in the past. He's a professional. If he's coaching us, he's doing it to get us to the top.

The difference is that the majority of us no longer give a **** what you have to say.

I just don't understand how joint head coaches will work.

If they are joint head coach who has the final say? Roos may want Waite to play in the backline where Mick may want him to play in the forward line.

You either get one or the other, its not like Roos needs Mick's help or vice versa.

Heard it at the physio ???

No...A Malthouse family member!

Also...Smurf has come out publicly and said he was playing injured all year last season....He didnt get his body right until the final 6 rounds...

Also this thread developed from my thread...

Heard same info re: malthouse months ago from a very reliable source.

Same source tells me Carlton is in for some bad press in the very near future.

Let me guess, Judd was in China at the same time as Fev last year, and it is his fault Fev got the flick from the Lions ???
