Just trying to downgrade from Gibbs thats all Zeeman however think you are over rating JR a touch as good as he has been over the past 12 months because I certainly think Dangerfield well and truly has him covered!!

I too will take the reliable leader that is Jordan Russell over the injury prone Patrick Dangerfield. Don't discount JR's presence in the chemistry department at Carlton. Has become an invaluable player.

Can someone please tell me what the big deal about Dangerfield is? What has he done to justify all this fuss? Have I missed something?
Gibbs in a trade? Are you kidding me? Even Russell would make me unhappy.

15 touches a week across half forward? No thanks. Sure I'd take him, but wouldn't exactly move heaven and earth for him.

If you asked any neutral football follower they would trade two Russells to gain the services of Dangerfield and so would I. We have an oversupply of half back flankers. Need to plan ahead for life with Judd.

Judd is only 27.
And by the looks of things, he aint slowing down just yet.

Judd is a once in a generation type player. He is irreplacable.

No doubting, but I expect him to lessen his load over the next few years given the fact he has carried not one but two teams on his shoulders.

If the rumours on Josh Toy wanting to return home are true, I would be prepared to pay a pound of flesh for his services.

Dangerfield is a gun but Trading away a very important member of our 22 and a leader of the group when our window is open isnt a good idea. Look at Collingwood and how they got Ball and Jolly. We don't need Dangerfield. He'd be a luxury which I definitely would not be selling the farm for. Top 4 sides don't trade away any top 10 players.

There is no doubting Toy's ability, but he is the type of player that we really need that is goin to take our list where we want it to go = premiership.

We do have a hole at CHB, and if we could manage to snare an out of contract KPD during trade week, that'd be what i'd be focusing on.

Point taken on Toy. If anything we are blessed with CHB options. Bower, Hendo, McCarthy and Watson in the longer term present us with plenty of options. Dangerfield is the type of player who can take us to a premiership. A dominant midfield = premiership.

Absolutely I would like at Dangerfield, but Adelaide would want way too much for him. And I doubt he'd walk out of the club and try his luck in the PSD.

I have this annoying feeling Dangerfield will end up @ Essendon, they have plenty of cash in their war chest and I think they are know are aware they are lacking class, or a grade players.

FWIW I doubt Ratten would ever trade Russell unless we were offered something outrageous.

I read something about Essendon sniffing around him amybe 18 months ago..a guy I work with follows Essendon and he was raving about it ... (won;t be raving Monday but :p ) so where there;s smoke...they need more that one classy player tho

Crackers in Inside Football reckons 1 coach will be gone within the month, suspect it will be Neil Craig

Some people on our board allegedly not happy with the spending on our football department - wanting to run it more like a business. Just reported on the Footy Show, so most likely untrue, but infuriating if true at all.

Honestly, if you want to run a business, go elsewhere. On-field success is the lifeblood of a football club; it influences your membership, your gate-takings, your sponsorship revenue, EVERYTHING. Plus, if you can make $1 million and win a flag, or $10 million profit and win nothing, a football club should always take the former. The fundamental function of a regular business is profit, so the two are radically different in what motivates their decision-making IMO.

There is surely more to it, but on the face of it - not happy.

It was Damien Barrett who claimed it, so I wouldn't be too worried.

Who reported it on TFS, Hutchy or Barrett?

I refuse to watch those buffoons.
