At the moment, they would have to stump up a couple of picks in the top 10 and a quality player to get that deal done.

But something tells me that Yazz will sign his contract soon and all speculation will be over.

We need to get him and Betts signed asap please Carlton FC :)

Okay he's not worth that..

But talk to some of the West Aussies. A lot of them would give their left nut to get Yaz on their list. They know how good he can and will be.

If we were looking at someone to replace him, then we would want someone very special. The wet toasters dont have like for like (since we got Judd off them) so they would have to offer something special in compensation.

Anyway... it is all hypothetical until something happens :)

There is a rumour on the main board that Sheeds has a "wish list" of players he want's for the GWS team, and the player from Carlton he will be targeting is none other than Joe Anderson...

I don't even know if he is contracted for next year, let alone the year after when they will start recruiting players, but if true I would keep him on so that he is the uncontracted player we lost !

Yep, that is the supposed theory behind some of the recruitment strategy in the thread. It seems to be "recruit pairs of brothers and indigenous players", brothers because no-one wants to go there so he will try and get players using the "play along side your family" line and indigenous players probably to forge a close net, aboriginal feel to the team.
 
Wouldn't be surprised that Sheeds is interested. I think Anderson with some consistent AFL exposure could be a very good running half back flanker.
