Good lawyer though
All those cases and disputes he has won and solved. The list is very long. Possibly the longest ever. He has the very biggest list.

Not only is it the biggest, people say, and people who know about these things, that it is a beautiful list.

The older I get and the more I have various interactions with lawyers through work or whatever, the less I see someone having a law degree as a reliable indicator of capability or intelligence.

Mostly it's just an indicator that you went to a private school.

Tredrea at least engaged with members on socials.

Jonas really doing nothing

Ease up on him man. Living your best life leaves little time for such nuisances.

Nah, I went to a Comprehensive School in the Valleys.

Those you describe tend to go early into corporate.
They don't really have an interest in justice, just money and prestige.

Tuesday.

Well you guys might not find out til Thursday, but it will probably leak before then either way.
The club will be starting the jonas highlights videos around Monday then.

Highlights like...bashing Andrew Gaff i guess.

Taperoo High School for me. Now a commercial litigator.

The private school thing is real but not universal.

On Tom, I would have thought someone looking to leverage their training as a lawyer would have some experience in practice. Seems not. Not even a summer clerkship.

+2 votes for Enviable Tradition

I’m absolutely fascinated by the usual Facebook types who think Tom Jonas will do anything other than nod along in accordance with Señor Sunrise in the Wanganeen and Cassisi mould (who at least know what actual success looks like).

I know it is an aside-ish, but my daughter is 3rd year law (Brighton High so not private) and she does say a mix of the Daddies money paying for me to be here types and those like her who have to work as well as study (as has had some say they dont need to work as parents pay for everything).

Degrees in general aren't great indicators of intelligence, at least those in professions like law and accounting. They represent the ability to rote learn information and regurgitate it in a curated manner to be effectively applied against a rubric.

I say this as someone who doesn't consider themselves as having notable intelligence but has topped classes in university and professional member body examinations.

Degree = lawyer m8

Hes actually just a retired mediocre footballer with an unutilised degree and a failied business venture and an easy wealthy life.
Not A Jonas fan myself but this is just blatant ballsh!t. You don't make the All Australian squad 3 times in your career if you're mediocre. An average player might make 1 if they're lucky but they won't make 3 unless they're worth something.

Don't want him on the board whatsoever but you're rewriting his playing career like he was Troy ****ing Chaplin.

Piss off Tom

I know someone that paid an Indian student to do his MBA for him.
He's now using it to spruik his biz cred.

Life isn't fair.

I have a good friend who is a lawyer who is one of the smartest guys I know and went to Paralowie High, so this absolutely tracks.

A guy who went to Rostrevor College and earned his law degree while playing professional footy though? The law degree doesn't move the needle a single micron in terms of his credentials to be on the board for me.

My experience of working with MBAs is that it stands for Mediocre But Ambitious. People who believe that having an MBA makes up for a lack of experience and knowledge.
