Pretty much not doing much running apart from an occasional trot to condition myself for a hellish training regime for Comrades next year. I'll probably be looking for 60km weeks in January (and will spend a week around Australia Day in Brisbane to help), 80km weeks in February and up to 100km up to Canberra early in April. Got some ideas for courses set up and plenty of hill work will have to be done given the route takes in 5 long climbs to negotiate along the 88km journey.
It's for Canberra that I'm a little torn over which distance to run. If I do the normal 42km marathon I feel I'll be able to improve my entry time (which I can do until May) to get into an earlier starting zone, yet if I do the 50km Ultra I'll get some extra km in the legs as well as attend to unfinished business from 2016. I've got about a month to decide which distance I'm going to do. I'd also like to do a couple of other events before late May in order to get race fit as opposed to physically fit.
