Ryan Schoenmakers & Ben Stratton vs Tayte Pears & Cale Hooker

Personally, i think that essendon in future should be lining up with Hurley as CHB and Hooker as FB, with Pears the tall HBF..

This could POTENTIALLY make one of the best defensive combos in the league, and i wouldnt change it for any other clubs young combinations..

Pears will be a champion, but I think the Hawthorn duo will surpass them in the next few years.

I actually think what we see is what we're gunna get.
Stratton will be as good a defender with a smidge less class than Pears, and Hooker and Schoe will be just average sorts.

Whilst I think Pears is clear on top of the other 3, I like the look of Stratton...good find. Hooker could be anything and as for Schoenmakers, on the fringe only.

Pears and Hooker have far more runs on the board. I don't know about "potential" but from watching all of them, Pears is a class above the rest. Shoenmakers has nice skills but lacks poise - if he develops that then he'll shoot straight up the order.
