First case of the season, the Gumbies FFC have managed to faceplant in record time this season, taking LITERALLY 1 MINUTE after the squad deadline to make an error in the squad submission thread violating rule 4B.

4B) Squad Changes

Any changes to the previous season's final squad must be listed in the current season's initial squad submission denoting the additions as "INs" and subtractions as "OUTs".

If a change is required to a team list for any addition or subtraction it must be noted in a post in the current season's squad submission thread.

The change must include alteration to the player list, and the list of any additions ("Ins") and subtractions ("Outs")

The initial squad submission must be altered (preferred) or re-posted (if original poster unavailable) to reflect these changes.

Squad changes are considered complete once both of these above actions have been carried out.

Any players involved in squad changes are unable to be named in a team sheet for the new team until a valid change has been completed.

Any players that have closed or permanently banned accounts are not considered to be active and therefore those players must be removed from the submitted squad and the squad minimum criteria must still be met.

A player may only have one account as a listed player in the Sweet FA. No aliases allowed. A minimum 8 game suspension applies for a breach. Alias accounts may be used in a joking manner in media and match threads only, any alias accounts posting in a sign up thread will be considered a breach.

Failure to adhere to these Rules will be punished under Sec[6] of these Rules, as determined by the Administrator.

The original squad was submitted at 11:48pm on Saturday, 21 January 2023 the night of the deadline.

However, at 12:01 am Sunday, 22 January 2023, 1 minute after the deadline for squad submission an edit was made to the squad submission.

This edit was to delist Grimesy87 who had cancelled their account, fortunately the Gumbies FFC are still at 22 players which satisfies the minimum squad submission.

However, 4B states that :

There was no subsequent post to detail this change of Grimesy87 being delisted despite the change being made after the squad submission deadline.

Hence, the Gumbies FFC are charged with a Minor Offence under 6B and incur Strike 1 as well as a 1-game suspension that must be served by either DenieD or Falconista.

6B) Minor Offence

The following list of offences will result in an Official Warning under a 'Three-Strike Policy'. Every THIRD Official Warning within a season will result in a 2 point deduction in the league standings. In addition to the Official Warning, for every Minor Offence a 1-game suspension will be imposed on the club captain, or a captain of the club's choosing if there are multiple captains at a club.

• Failing to satisfy the maximum squad list requirement in season (30 eligible players) as per 4A
• Incorrect squad changes as per 4B
• Incorrect player signing as per 4C and 4D
• Naming an ineligible player on a team sheet as per 5B
• Incorrect spelling of player names in a team sheet as per 5A
• Incorrect team sheet formatting as per 5A
• Any post in the squad submission thread notifying a squad change that did not occur as per 4A & 4B

This is considered official notice under 6E and the Gumbies FFC have 24 hours to appeal by post in this thread, by private message, or by committee representative to the league administration which describes mitigating evidence.

Both the Sin City Swamprats and East Side Phoenix have been charged under rule 5A for incorrect team sheet formatting.

The Sin City Swamprats' Round 1 team sheet is missing colons between the positional line and the first player name which is inconsistent with the acceptable format detailed in 5A.

The East Side Phoenix have used a comma to separate the interchange instead of a hyphen which is inconsistent with the acceptable format detailed in 5A.

5A) Submission Rules

The deadline for team sheet submission is the Thursday 11:59 PM Melbourne Time before a match unless stated otherwise by the Administrator

• Team sheets must be displayed in a logical format that is comprehensible by the game simmers. Each positional line {e.g. B, HB, C, HF, F, Foll, INT} must be defined clearly. The only acceptable format is:

B: BP – FB – BP

HB: HBF – CHB – HBF

C: W – C – W

HF: HFF – CHF – HFF

F: FP – FF – FP

FOLL: RU – RR – RO

INT: INT – INT

• Teams must contain 20 eligible players, and be submitted in a single post in the Official Team Sheet Submission Thread each round.
• The team submission post must carry a uniquely team identifying characteristic, (eg team logo) and the correct round number.
• Maliciously hindering the simmers from doing their jobs, by any deliberate acts to alter the team sheet such that simmers have additional difficulty in reading using them, will not be tolerated.

Failure to submit a team sheet in the correct format (20 eligible players, correct spelling of every name within the whole team sheet and in the team sheet submission thread), or AT ALL will result in penalties under Sec [6] of the Rules

The Sin City Swamprats and East Side Phoenix charges will stand with the appeal having been struck down by votes of 3-8 and 4-7 respectively. Philreich and Thewizardmelon or Por_please_ya will be given a 1-game suspension and both clubs will be on Strike 1 with 3 strikes equating to a 2-point penalty.

The Gumbies FFC appeal has resulted in a vote tied at 6-6 which means the Administrator will cast the deciding vote. In a surprise to nobody, I have decided that the Gumbies FFC charge will be Dismissed. If we are to expect perfect adherence to the rules by the letter of the law from captains then it stands to reason that there needs to be perfect clarity within the rules. Falconista in his appeal has managed to successfully find a gap in the language of the rules which will require an amendment to clarify the specific time zone in the squad submission thread. Technicality or not, the case is still logically valid and the fact that half of the committee is convinced means that the case in on strong enough standing to be a successful challenge.

Squad Submission OP has been updated to include the time zone.

• Deliberately hindering the simulation team through disregard of 5A, 5B and/or 5C.
• Deliberately naming a player that is deemed ineligible as per 5B
