Sam Mitchell vs Lenny Hayes

Tough call. I can't really answer without being biased as I've only watched a few Saints games in full this year.
Hayes is having a super year, with himself and Ball practically holding up the midfield.
The're both great at clearances, while Hayes is probably a bit quicker with top foot skills and can therefore get the footy out, and be there to hit a forward on the chest. So he probably has more bows to his string.

Mitchell on the other hand is all about clearances, and is probably the best in the league with consistency. At the hawks, we really need that type of player as we are a stoppages specialist team, and Mitch is the best at it so we'd keep him. It all depends on what your team needs as to which player you'd take

I'd like to think Sam would win this poll....but sadly my vote goes against my team.

Hayes for me, though (in something of a first for BF) it's a good comparison. Sammy's having a bit of a down year (with plenty of others taking up the slack it must be said), whilst it appears to me Hayes has been close to in career best form - for which I'm glad, after the knee injury(ies?) he suffered previously.

A down year? He's coming first in the Age player of the year competition!!!!!!!!!

I'd hate to see his good year

As much as I love Ozzie, he has nowhere near been playing better than Sammy, top 10 maybe but definitely not 2. And FWIW I'd take Sammy, although admittedly I haven't seen too much of Hayes' work.
