I'm going to sound petty and vengeful, but I don't want an orderly handover from chapman to the next chairman. It's his leadership that brought us to this point and the idea that he leaves during our rebuild stage, where others have made the hard calls that he's incapable off, claiming credit for where we are heading is particularly unappealing. I want him gone now, identified as the architect of where we find presently find ourselves and history to not reflect that he had anything to do with our rejuvenation as a club.

But I'm guessing those that are setting the agenda are happy to keep the Lilly-livered, weak as piss figurehead at the moment. I'm loving what I'm seeing and hearing (especially a club wide refresh), so I'll back them as I'm sure they are happy doing the real work while he fronts the media. Butt it's gonna shit me when he leaves in 18 months and we're on track and he says something like we're in a good place, on an upward trajectory so it's time to kick back and let the new generation in to lead. To borrow a chapmanism, I'll want to crack him.
Chapman is on the 18th, dropped 2 shots in the water, gonna finish with a quadruple bogey.

Maybe not. But when you break down the results of the last 2 seasons, as has been written before, 3-19 vs. the top 9 teams and 18-4 vs. the bottom 9 teams was an indication that our game-plan and match-day efforts were only capable of putting away other ordinary teams.
That is probably an argument in Sanderson's favour. With a team devastated by defections and draft sanctions he managed to beat the lower teams. You can't beat the good teams until you have the personnel. I would have predicted more wins against higher teams though. Sanderson's contested ball style should only work on the attacking teams, consider our competitive performance against the Hawks.

Even if we don't land a Clarkson (which I still think we are a chance to do) then it's not a disaster.

Sando isn't the man. So cut him. A lot of clubs know their coach probably isn't the man but keep them to honour contracts, sponsorships, etc. This decision is in the long term interests of our on field success. I am confident of that.

I'm thinking you, or a bus like you, has finally driven into the westpac centre. Although, I am concerned, like we all are, about what happens if our website hits fall off a cliff. Dark days ahead, please Fages, website hits mate, keep it at the absolute forefront of your mind. The coaching appointments and whole of club review will largely take care of itself, but ffs man, do not take your eye off the website stats.

Yeah Danger was smouldering at the treatment he received from Lyons, Newman etc. He looked to me like a guy who would have loved to arc-up and just rip into them. I am also left with the feeling that maybe he was/is really pissed that he was put in that position by the club. ie having to defend what possibly appears to be undue focus on the players' end-of-year performance feedback . Hope his suppressed anger is for the Footy Show and not the Adelaide Football Club. It's nagging away at me.

Danger was scheduled to be on the Footy show, so its not like the club forced him to go on and defend it. They just happened to sack the coach the week he was on, so he answered the questions.

I was never in the "Patty is leaving OMG" brigade, but i am more secure he is staying now as i feel he was part of the group that led to Sando's demise. He now has unfinished business. He now needs to prove in 2015 and beyond that it was the right call and he needs to deliver (with the other guns) a premiership for the AFC

I liked the analogy that someone used a few days ago:

"You don't stay with your annoying missus in case you can't find someone better, you leave her and you go out and make it happen"

Actually good article from Dwayne Russell. I'm all for change to get rid of mediocrity but would be appointing one of Dew, Sumich (wtf) or Bolton be change in the right direction?

Yep. Whether we get an experienced coach or a rookie coach it's a step in the right direction because it's not Sanderson. How much of a step in the right direction it is will be determined to how the new coach goes.

meh meh meh why cant we fast forward a week or 2 :(

Yeah but you can go through a lot of partners if you never face the fact that you are the problem.

Even Rucci is on board promoting a new logo, the one that's been on here.

We want to be known as ruthless? Start with a mean intimidating Crow, not a cartoon blue bird
He must know it's too late to change for the upcoming season? Building more discontent early?

To you marketing types, how early would a change like this have to be planned to take effect for the next season?

True. But the AFC is implementing change. Roo is taking care of that. New CEO who has runs on the board. New coach. Better footy dept (hopefully)

We're fixing our faults and we'll find the right partner to make beautiful music

The word "stakeholder" received quite a few mentions during the past couple of days.

There is a group of very important stakeholders that haven't been mentioned at all that just might have had an influence of the club's re thinking in the past few months.

I think we are a little where freo was prior to Ross Lyon coming on board. They had Harvey who just wasn't able to deliver with the talent available and Sando is the same.

I remember seeing vision of Harvey on stage at the dockers pre season launch during his first season in charge. He was there with all his newly recruited assistants that looked more like a reunion of past essendon players. It was more a exercise in reminiscing about essendon good times than what he was going to do for the dockers.

It becomes pretty clear that they can't deliver and it's better to cut ties there and then however brutal it may seem. Roo and the others were spot on to do the same but no Harvey please !!!

Now that the port dregs have sunk back into the abyss where they belong hope we'll see at least one appointment this week, ideally cut some of the remaining dead wood as well
