Watched the last quarter of the Eagles V Doggies game. Obst, hmmm from what I saw he is at least 2 years away from AFL. Didn't impress me at all. Griffen didn't too badly in the ruck contest and took a nice strong mark in the backline, but he is as skinny as a rake. If he supposedly stacked on the kilos over summer I would hate to think how skinny he was last year. He makes Ryan Fitzgerald look like Stewie Dews twin.

Jericho pulled out friday for West Adelaide on friday because he did his calf at training:)

From what I've seen this year and last year, Griffin is a better player than Meesen. Whether that turns out to be the case when they make AFL, will wait and see. Knights injured his thigh early in the first quarter and didn't come on again. Obst is a long way from AFL. Similar player to Hinge.

Bock was in the eagles reserve's best, he also managed to kick a goal :thumbsu:

Can't come back soon enough. I am really worried Stevens is going to get exposed, he really just gets pushed off his opponent far too easily.

Yes I agree and unfortunately that's one trait you cannnot have as a CHB in the AFL....the opposition will expose you...can you imagine Reidwoldt taking him to the goals square in a final...our hearts would be in our mouths:eek:

After a big friday night I was planning to watch the Eagles Vs Centrals game on ABC. It started off well, saw Knights start on fire kicking 2 goals and picking up 5 quick possesions before he went off injured. Fell asleep and woke up just in time to see the Eagles sing the song

Looking at the stats, one can assume that Meesen had a VERY good game :thumbsu:

If only he would put that pen to paper.

This is the most annoying subject on Big Footy at present :thumbsd:

Potentially our best ruckman ....

Interesting that a recent survey at the U18 championships had players asked which coach they would most like to be coached by....Sheedy came in first at 18%, second was Craig at 15%....

Now Meesen is getting coached by one of the most sought after coaches in the AFL, with apparently great people skills....why would he leave?

This club and this state is far too paranoid about the go home factor ....propogated by the media it's a state inferiority complex mimicked through the Crows.

Meesen had 21 touches and 16 hit outs.

Great game from the big man.
Is Drummond sick? I can't believe he hasn't posted about the Big Meese's performance. Mate of mine went to the game and said he looked very classy indeed (though the opposition wasn't exactly top shelf).

To add much needed depth to our kpp stocks we really need Gibson to come on next year becuase Obst is miles away from being AFL ready. Mind you, most of our current kpps have at least 2-3 years of footy left in them. Age in 2007:

Trent H - 24.
Kenny - 26.
Pez - 28.
Bock - 24.
Rutten - 24.
Stevens - 25.

West Adelaide don't have much in the way of rucks. Meesen gave O'Sullivan a footy lesson for the 1st 1.5 quarters (which Norwood dominated). Later, Illman was far more competitive in the ruck contests, but lacks mobility, so Meesen ran off him at every opportunity. Looks the goods.
