Well done Jerome. Let's hope that we can continue this Friday morning tradition! :)

Selection highlights of the week: Van Berlo, obviously, well done kid. And, great to see John Hinge get a guernsey in the Glenelg league team.

With North having the bye, Ladhams must be a good show to come in if Torney or Shirley aren't passed fit. Seems most likely that Bock & Scott Stevens will play SANFL this week.

What's the story with Krueger this week??? It's becoming a bleedin' soap opera!

Thanks Guys!

Another important thing to note is that Watts and Meesan are playing up forward. We desperately need some young key forwards playing well in the SANFL.

Now if only Gibson could get in the Legs seniors side. I cant work out why he is not there...has the AFC stopped their weekly sugar coated SANFL player reviews this year?

Unfortunately it would seem so!

For those who want to see Hinge and S. Stevens Port Vs. Glenelg will be on at 2:30 on ABC :)

because they were worthless! :D
- they reminded me of my primary school days: best players - all played well! even those who never got a touch

the reports we get on here are much better although the problem is when they play in the SANFL reserves teams hardly anyone gets to see the games except the last quarter or so

oh for one genuine Crows reserves team

Wait...Begley is named for Sturt.

But he was named on the ground for the Crows? WTF? I thought he had to play if named on the ground...

?

It looks like Sturt weren't aware that Begley was picked by the Crows...

I noticed that too, wonder whats going on?

With Van Berlo 'OUT' - does that mean he is going to debut against Port?

Jericho and Meesen have both scored goals in the Norwood Vs. West game with Meeson apparently playing well at FF but has been innacurate kicking 1.3

I know Maric was injured during the pre-season with tendinitis in the knee, but how long will it be until he starts playing some games in the Port Magpies seniors ?

His name was in the reserves in the budget last week, but unless his number was different to that in the budget then he wasnt out there.

He is named this week in the paper. Ill try and catch the last half of the reserves tomorrow and let you know on how he goes

From today's Tiser:

Porplyzia's late burst shocks Legs
By DOUG ROBERTSON
09apr05

LIVEWIRE West Adelaide midfielder Jason Porplyzia produced a magical four-goal last quarter as the Bloods snatched a nine-point win to anchor Norwood to the bottom of the SANFL ladder at The Parade last night.

The seemingly spent Bloods blasted 5.6 to Norwood's 0.3 in a staggering final quarter of running, hard, committed football which should ignite West's season. The Legs led by 31 points 17 minutes into the third quarter and by 17 points when James Gallagher missed on the run from 50 metres eight minutes into the last. But then it reverted to the ridiculous chip-shot, criss-cross style for a critical 10-minute patch which gave the Bloods enough turnovers and second chances to sink the Legs.
Every Bloods player then jumped onto the ride provided by Ben Marsh in ruck. He dominated after being shaded early, while the no-nonsense power of Luke Norman, Dean Howard and Marc Dragicevic - who picked up 30 disposals - proved critical.

Yet it was Porplyzia who grabbed the attention with four goals in 12 minutes - two dished out by pint-sized Nick Malinovski from the bottom of packs. He was the cream on a fairly mixed performance but the resounding message was Westies' self-belief against all odds.

West had little help from the umpires with 13 frees to 31 for the night.

Robbie Neill kicked his 200th career goal with his fourth for the night in the third term when things looked good for the Legs and Scott Borlace (38 disposals) was sensational all night in minor highlights . . . but this certainly was a game it threw away.

It was high tension and full body contact from the first bounce. West's Pat Wiggins (2.5) opened up like he meant business with two goals in eight minutes and soon had Stuart Bown shifted for Joel Patfull.

The Legs had a fair share of the ball out of the midfield in the first half, mostly through the steady ruckwork of unheralded Tim Nicholas and big-hearted Borlace and there was a willing target in Adelaide recruit John Meesen (3.5). But he missed five goals from inside 45m, which returned to haunt the Legs.

RESERVES

West3.34.69.812.10(82)Norwood1.32.86.1111.15(81)BEST - West: Eagleton, Mensforth, Fisher, Dabrowski, Ezard, Crowell, Vanderloo. Norwood: Thomas, Gibson, Hill, Hughes.

Good to see Gibson in the Legs best in the Reserves. Hopefully he makes his way up to senior ranks soon.

A frustrating night for Meesan. Yet to generate 8 shots at goal is a good sign. I have not seen the stats yet, I'll be keen to see how many marks he took for the match.

Pretty significant stats these - particularly as he took 7 marks.

Meesen is normally an excellent kick, and you can't have shots for goal unless you get the ball.

8 shots for goal next time might be 5.3 or 6.2, and we'd be salivating at the thought of an up and comer who can actually mark the ball up forward, and kick goals.

A couple or more games like that and he will find himself starting off as a forward with the Crows.

Played reserves last week for glenelg and he strugeled so did fergus watts in the eagles leauge he played on a half back flank Was going to be the NEXT BIG THING how long do we persist with him for,i was hoping when Mark Stevens stepped down he would be ready.

Actually Krueger played reserves, kicked 4 goals ina half then went off injured.

Hardly struggling.

And Watts played CHB.

Get your facts straight.

injured again i rest my case and watts chb or not 2 more wasted picks by our well run club we are fast becoming the joke of the comp in that regard.Sticking with Mark Stevens was a mistake and who will be our next key foward yes i was a Aryes fan and the way he was treated its hard to stick up for them

As far as I am aware his injury problems were not occurring at the time we picked him.

Watts I agree has been a great disappointment so far, hope his work ethic picks up soon, though he still has some more time.

I also preferred Ayres to Craig, I don't think Craig has the making of a long-term coach, and it was all handled badly. Ayres at least made us a hard team, but his coaching was declining in quality.

And keeping Mark Stevens was a mistake, yes.

Woodville Oval today
Watts looked and played one of the best games ive seen him play , in the backlines and took a great saving mark.
Bock looked great as well yes he did
M Stevens needs match practice leave at wwt for a few more weeks.
M smith for sturt umm didnt do much.
Knights in the seconds looked great should be in the league side soon .

cheers.

Watched Glenelg Vs. Port today on TV and Hinge did not seem to do alot in his league debut and Scott Stevens was well Scott Stevens.
