Seriously, head down to an SANFL game this week and help kick start the 2007 season. I can’t wait for tomorrow night’s season opener when the mighty Redlegs take on the Magpies. It appears as though Tredrea will be playing for Port, and there is a good chance ex-Crow Chad Gibson will be lining up on him. Gibson kicked 2 goals last week and I tell you what, didn’t the Crows give up on him too soon? And Kris Massie also looks likely to be playing for Norwood. So quite simply, be there!

Some big games this week. Port and Norwood are traditional rivals. West and Sturt are both desperate to kick off 07 with a win after struggling last year. South and the Eagles will both be up there this year and that will be a beauty. Match of the round is of course the Northern rivals, I will be heading to this match.. a night game at Elizabeth should be fun.

You mean, should be "interesting". ;) Norwood haven’t had a night game out there yet, and I’m not looking forward to when we do. :o

I remember a few years ago we would push 10 thousand for Norwood/Port games, however there’s rarely more than 5 these days. But this being the season opener, with Public holiday the next day, and the fact Tredrea will be playing in the SANFL for the first time in 10 years I’m hoping we can get close to 10k.

Yeah a couple of years ago you got 9 or 10 didn't you? A few Tealies who jumped off might come out because Wazzaaaaaaa is playing. Hopefully there is a massive crowd.

This is our second night game out there, last year we coughed up a 7 goal lead to win by only 2 points and the locals weren't happy, a few fisticuffs occurred as you may have seen on safooty. There might be a smaller crowd though with it being Easter Saturday.

Yeh a few years ago in the game that Beinke kicked a goal on (after) the siren which gave them the win, the crowd was about 10k. Would be awesome to have a figure like that again.

Yeh I remember that game, plenty of drama. ;)

I'm hoping for an aggregate crowd of 20 thousand, but that’s unlikely. West/Sturt and South/Eagles will be lucky to draw 5 thousand between them.

I'm assuming Tippett and McKay will play? I haven't heard a thing about McKay for some time. Let's hope he has a good SANFL debut.

I'm not looking forward to it either. Those lights are a disgrace, there is no way 4 light towers is enough to adequately light up a ground of that size. There are pockets of darkness all over the ground where you can't see a bloody thing.

Yep, Norwood's lights aren't great but at least it's a small ground, Elizabeth is bigger than footy park I believe and the lights are shocking. Do you remember the scoreboard last year? That was poorly lit too, it looked like there was a candle underneath it!!

Yeah I stood near the scoreboard and I could hardly read the numbers.
Gallman named in the back pocket for North's ressies, McIntyre FB in the league.

Belter of an opending round this one with all games going to be hard to pick.

Would be down at Encounter Bay on Satruday except will be in Melbourne to watch the lovely boys.

Good to see Tredrea back in the SANFL where he belongs :D

I just checked on the Bloods forum and they haven't noticed him being named... somebody mentioned there's half a chance he could be held back incase the Crows need him... whether that is accurate or not remains to be seen.
