If you heard this clown speak on the radio (SEN Earlier) he wants an apology to sheedy and sheedy to get recognition from essendon, also wants him to have a job at the club.

Now that is a way that we can get Bomber/laidley/choco to the club keeping sheedy in the background.

These people need to get over themselves and think with their head not heart. I liek others was dissapointed when sheedy was not renewed and the way that is has been handled but watching his coaching moves over the last 6 weeks think we made the right decision, we have been dissapointing for 4 years now. If it wasnt a coach who had been there so long he would have been gone and everyone would be happy. The coaching efforts against Richmond, 3 quarters of WCE, Hawthorn and countelss others this season has ben very ordinary with selection being a major problem.

Handling the departure of someone who has done so much for the club was always going to be hard. I think the board and essendon have rectified that over the last 2 weeks, he will be immortalised at essendon and it will come in time.

If sheedy is so great why didnt carlton or melbourne want him.......... why dont most richmond supporters want him (they are happier with wallett and his 10 year plan).

Granted horsborough doesnt look very media savvy but after that infamous meeting what was he meant to tell the media, 'yes we have sacked kevin sheedy', he tried to keep it in house thats all, yet he gets rediculed.

what happens if they net mark thompson would u be upset then? your entitled to your opinion but look at the facts, sheedy had to go sometime, it had been 6 years since we were a serious contender thats a long time and we are probably another 2-3 years away from contending again. The fact that melbourne or no other club is in a big rush to get Kev almost vindicates essendons decision, i just wish we did it last year to snare Mark williams.

Agree with all your comments above, and these so called saviours are doing nothing but detering us from attracting the best coach and allowing the boards decsion to be proven correct.

Jacksons reign has been very successful and helped us become one of the melbourne power houses. Whilst Horsburgh behind the scenes has generated large sponsorship money and invested it heavily for future benfits, least he showed enough balls to take the roll on, when if we remeber Mckissock stood down at the end of last year as the board knew this decision needed someone that had a history of making such tough decisions. Who care if he doesnt present well in front of a camera.

For the best interest of our Football club all memebers need to put an end to this faceless group and vote for the current board so we can move on.

I dare say if and when this EGM is held, the amount of proxy votes held by the Board and the amount of people set to rock up on the night will see this vote defeated massively.

Yes there is probably going to be change in December at the AGM itself - but, even there, there's only a minimum of 2 sapots and a maximum of 4 spots available to be filled.

well im no member and havnt been for 8 years, the club made the right decision, didnt the same mebers vote the board members in the first place??? and our constitution needs to be changed, we now have 30,000 members yet we only need 100 signatures to get a EGM, rediculous to the miculous. if they could only get 108 signatures i'd be surprised if they will overhaul the board, the only thing they will do is cost the club money.

The board will spill the beans and explain why Sheedy was sacked. That will be the end of it.

I don't want to generalise, but the people who despise the people who made the decision and the people in "Save Essendon" seem to be elitist "higher tier" members and mainly older members. The club is bigger than any individual, even Sheedy. How much sugar did they want the board to put on the sacking of Sheedy? Any sacking of a person is a brutal and ruthless affair, let alone the sacking of a club legend. I fail to see how they could have handled this better without compromising the needs of the Essendon Football Club. I say Save Essendon from stupidity.

Is this a matter of your constitution or the Corporations Act? Because under the act I think only 5% of voting members (you may only have 2,000 voting members, but I doubt it) is needed to call a meeting.
