My previous 2 efforts have included the top50. But being an eagles supporter I only really needed to look at the top30 players. So my 4th version of the 2009 draft will only go to pick30, but I really think the draft could pan out very similiar to this.

Ive gotten most of my information from reliable reporters such as Matt Burgan and Emma Quayle + my own ratings of players. I hope you enjoy the read and i would love any feedback, in case i have the time to quickly create a 5th PD on draft day:thumbsu:

1: Melb - Tom Scully (selected first for marketing purposes)

2: Melb - Jack Trengove (the best player of the draft)

3: Rich - Dustin Martin (locked in)

4: Frem - Anthony Morabito (theres been talk of them over-looking the strong-bodied Morabito, but i think come draft day we'll here his name being called out here)

5: NM - Ben Cunnington (absolute tough nut, will be a fantastic midfileder for any team who drafts him)

6: Syd - Gary Rohan (highly rated by recruiters, you wont find the speedy ranga falling past this pick)

7: WCE - Lewis Jetta (They'll highly consider the versatile forward black, but in the end its looking like the super-fast wingman in jetta is the go. Fills the missing link for the eagles)

8: Port - John Butcher (best KPF in the draft, cant see port passing him here)

9: Port - Jake Melksham (talented midfileder, seems an almost definite selection by the power)

10: Ess - Andrew Moore (Have heard they're extremely interested, Moore is very versatile and seems a likely pick here)

11: Melb - Aaron Black (very versatile KPF, melbourne needs another forward to help Watts, hence the selection)

12: Carlton - Daniel Talia (IMO the best KPP in the draft, is a perfect fit for carlton)

13: Adel - Jasper Mcmillan-Pettard (as usual, adelaide surprise us all and go with this late bolter, medium defender with good pace and excellent kicking skills)

14: Syd - Kane Lucas (had him at earlier in the, has certainly dropped down the pecking order a bit but no further than this)

15: WB - Brad Sheppard (a speedy HB Flanker with excellent kicking skills, B.A)

16: Port - Koby Stevens (desperately need inside mids)

17: Geelong - Ryan Bastinac (safe option)

18: Melb - Luke Ball (i really think they should go vardy here but theyve stated that theyre very keen on ball even with pick 11 !)

19: Rich - Jake Carslisle (I really rate this kid, and richmond dont have any big KPF's, and especially with the loss of richo, carslisle is a very suitable selection)

20: Frem - Troy Taylor (from reports dockers are extremely keen on Motlop JNR, great marking and freakish skills are the key to his game)

21: NM - Travis Colyer (will be selected by WC if North let him slip, so they'll take him here)

22: WCE - Luke Tapscott (has a penetrating extremely accurate boot, have a good feeling he'll be in blue and gold next year) Callum Bartlett (almost chose him at 7 but resisted the urge, he has super pace, a beautiful left-foot kick and if he overcomes his knee injury will be an absolute star!)

23: WCE - Callum Bartlett (almost chose him at 7 but resisted the urge, he has super pace, a beautiful left-foot kick and if he overcomes his knee injury will be an absolute star!)

24: Ess - Allen Christenson (the small goal sneak is best available)

25: NM - Sam Reid (have a feeling he'll be a bolter on draft day, with the loss of gibson North wont mind another talented KPB)

26: Ess - Jordan Gysberts (really rate him, B.A here)

27: Brisbane - Josh Thomas (apparently very keen on the storong bodied GC boy)

28: Geelong - Nathan Vardy (geelong would be more than happy if vardy lasted til this pick, sures up the void left by mumford)

29: Adelaide - Mitchell Duncan (suits adelaides game style, probably the B.A here)

30: Collingwood - Matthew Panos (this was a very hard pick, but with J Thomas gone i can see them selcting panos here)

That is all:)

I think its a good effort as a phantom draft, and i seem to think it could well pan out a similar way, especially the top 15 or so.

Also very happy from a West Coast perspective and would be a very happy man if the draft was to pan out like this come thursday!!! :)

Good effort:thumbsu:

I would not be surprised one bit if the Eagles take Black or Butcher @pick 7.There will be plenty of midfield/small forward options @22/23.
They won,t be getting access to other forwards of quality after thursday's draft.
Well done :thumbsu:

No Griffiths would have me excited for the looming pick 35... though I'm no huge wrap for Carlisle.

Might change panos to collingwood, instead will put griffiths:thumbsu:
Just forgot him whilst doing the draft.
