He's not in then ..****. It's five weeks away. Why lock in Ablett? Or Fyfe? Or Libba? Anyone can not be named R1. You pick your team and it changes, why is this a hard concept.
Someone stated O'Meara is a lock.

Clearly not a lock if you change your pick to not include him is he. Simple.

Also really like that team!
Strong on all lines
No Mills but I'm sure that might change
Also, weren't you the person who really liked Pittard? If so, WHERE IS HE??

I'm taking Jasper mate, he's 100% locked at D4.
I just changed him now so I didn't have people telling me to trade him out :)

I reckon we will see a lot more teams with Currie as R2 due to the fact you can still have Goldy or Stef and not ruin team balance!

I'm thinking about it, want to see him play another game before I strongly consider having Currie R2

Yeah, definitely think Currie could be good and average 75+.
For me it'll either be the 'safe option' of Goldy + Martin, or the risky Goldy/Martin + Currie

And he will the first choice if Nicholls goes down!
Heard that Brooksby is traininh as a KPF. Good signs for Currie

Mucked around with it a bit more.

Bennell out for wells. Crouch out for Pendlebury. Weitering out for MacKenzie.

Weitering > McKenzie is six of one half a dozen of the other. McKenzie's career average is that of a good Def rookie. You still have 6 x 200kish priced players which is 2-3 many. Downgrade 3 of them to 117-123k rookies and upgrade one of Lobbe or one of your forwards.

To all the people running Currie as their number 2 ruck:
Dan Currie was first drafted in 2006. He's now on his 3rd AFL team. He's played 4 AFL games in that time.
Relying on him to play more than a handful of games and to actually score for you is pretty much blind hope.
He also got thoroughly outplayed by GC's other ruck yesterday, so it's not like he starred. He's a number 2 ruck at very best.
If you really want to get a cheap ruck, get Leuenberger. Unless you truly believe this is a Podsiadly situation.

I'll only take Currie if GC is going to run with Nicholls and Currie and he is 100% best 22. If North didn't have Goldy, he would have played the past few years.
By no means am I banking on it, it's just another possibility

If you swap all your premium rookies (MacKenzie, Francis, Mills, Parish, Kennedy and Anderson) for $123,900 rookies, you save yourself $524,600.
That's enough to upgrade 2 of them to genuine keepers and plug some other holes.
At the moment you only have 10 genuine keepers (Shaw, Dangerfield, Pendlebury, Beams, Rockliff, Cripps, Liberatore, Martin, Martin and Barlow), with Cripps and Liberatore only being borderline keepers. Then you have a bunch of premium priced players who are far from guaranteed to be keepers (Kolodjashnij, Docherty, Rich, Lobbe, Wells, Anderson, Kennedy) and the premium priced rookies.
You just have wasted way too much money on stop gaps. Need to think about your end game more, or you will crash by midseason, when everyone else has upgraded to their full team.

Forwards are something Im looking to fix up as it just doesnt look right and feel right.

Looking at getting rid of one Lions player (Rich) for a rookie and upgrading one of the guys upfront.

Really like the look of Ross looks like he can step it up and stays on the park I think he can produce good scores.

Any tips would be taken.

Every report I've read and heard on the day had Currie dominating the 1st half yesterday. Nicholls then became the key ruck snd dominated the 2nd half.
Gold Coast training watchers have all commented on how impressed they've been with Currie.
If Nicholls gets injured he's a fantastic R2 option imho

What do people think then of running with Currie as R2 with say Grimley as bench cover and Tippett in the forward line....with no more sub rule I can see sides going back to more of the traditional 2 ruck set up and he's performance on the weekend was solid enough to warrant selection you would think, providing he performs like that in the remaining nab cup games.

Could work out very well in theory. It all depends on whether Currie actually plays. Futhermore, his scoring potential actually has to be decent, so a. he needs to share the ruck with Nicholls and b. he needs to get some touches and goals playing forward
Just wait and see I guess

Haha yeah that's it, all this Currie talk come round 1 and he probably won't even be selected

i think there could be a spot for both nicholls and currie, with the sub now goneskies. although talking longevity thoughout the season, i think we'd rather just play one ruckman and have someone like day doing the backup ruck when nicholls rests.

can't really tell how they'll structure the team until the first round unfortunately. i think the fact currie is at his 3rd club, and has never been a big SC scorer, i'd stay away. seems like a waste of an upgrade trade & cash after a couple rounds when he's either not playing or barely reaching his breakeven. there's gotta be better ways to spend 160k.

Could work! ;)

Doesn't make sense to me to have Grimley in the forward in that team. You're only using Wyatt to be able to swap Tippett to ruck, which Grimley can do himself. You're just using up 2 spots to perform a role that 1 player can do.
