Scott West is clearly the best player in the competition to date.Yes, he is better than Judd, Riewoldt, Hird etc and has definantly got the ever so over rated Buckley covered.

The reason why West is the best player in the AFL is because for seven or eight years he has been the leading possession getter in the competition, despite being wildly tagged week in week out. I dont care if your playing U'9s football, if you are getting thirty odd touches a week, every week, not only week in week out but year in year out, GEEEEE you must be doing something right...

All his possessions hit targets and although he may not kick many goals these days, he sets up about
5-10 each week.

Seven best and fairests says how good he is and although he has not got a brownlow we all know he should have had at least two and possibly three.

He is a star for different reasons. It's unfair to rate him against the young guys like Judd etc because they have not been around that long. He is a proven star year in year out, no doubt about it. BUT he does not that freakish ability of the likes of Hird (and you can add the young guys in here like Judd). He wont single handedly win a match for you. But he will week in week out keep you in the match by just being a freaky work horse!

Im not taking anything away from West but he is not the best player in the league, I don't care what anybody says., He may get 30 possetions week in week out but 20-25 of them are handballs. He is still a great player none the less.

Just when you thought there were intelligent Dogs fans you come along and spoil it.
I'll repeat it for those that are a bit slow Westy is great no denying that. However he does not hurt teams as much as others do with his disposals. Perfect example West had 45 against the Crows but Cooney with 34 possies and 5 goals was the more damaging player. Understand now Junior. Geez, for a kid at Uni you don't seem that bright.
