THE opposition immigration spokesman, Scott Morrison, urged the shadow cabinet to capitalise on the electorate's growing concerns about "Muslim immigration", "Muslims in Australia" and the "inability" of Muslim migrants to integrate.

The Herald has learnt several colleagues, including the deputy leader, Julie Bishop, and the former immigration minister Philip Ruddock, strongly disagreed with the suggestion, pointing out that the Coalition had long supported a non-discriminatory immigration policy and saying it was not an issue that should be pursued.

Interesting Melissa Price touted as Minister for the Environment (she was Assistance Minister for the Environment previously), which I wasn't even aware of but looking at her bio, she seems well suited to the position.

Prior to entering Parliament, Price was Vice President of Legal and Business Development for Crosslands Resources, an entity of Mitsubishi Developments which control the major Western Australian Jack Hills Iron Ore Mine.

Hmm, mining background, should please a few in the party.

You do realise Duttons antics resulted in Morrison being PM ? I don't think Morrison has any hard feelings.

But Morrison’s masterstroke was to promote other conservatives, all team players, to fix exactly the issues Abbott and Dutton had campaigned on.

Angus Taylor, a new generation conservative, has been made Minister for Energy, or as Morrison said yesterday, the “minister for reducing electricity prices”. No mention of cutting emissions.

And Alan Tudge, who backed Dutton, was promoted to Minister for Cities, Urban Infrastructure and Population - “the minister for congestion busting”.

Morrison has divided and conquered the conservatives, yet put them in charge of issues that matter to them.

Why should the PM bring Abbott into his team, if he refuses to play by team rules ?.

Fix up your team skills in the 2nd’s, then return to the seniors when you have learnt your lesson.

Plus when has Abbott ever shown any proficiency as a Minister?
