I don't know if that's true. Mass media is being ignored a lot lately. Most of the people on here who are parroting lines they've heard are people who come across as being radicalised online, left and right, or keen Bolt/Sky News watchers. Of course the fact we're online is going to skew the numbers massively, but readership of newspapers has been in enormous decline for a long time, and TV is doing much news these days. I don't see poll numbers being swayed by News Corp campaigns, or 3AW/2GB campaigns? I did think the ABC gave the Libs a helping hand from 2016-2017, so I get where you're coming from, but my worry remains what will be lost when people are getting their 'news' from random places with little integrity and/or resources. It is hard to ignore the mass media - because they will
1) always have a core of people who agree with their echo chamber so validating the hosts' viewpoint
2) when the mass media also is involved in bribing the brains of a political party (in this case the IPA and their links to Murdoch) even if "people/ audience" appeared to abadon that media, they would stay relevant to the cash strapped political party
Maybe the only way is to boycott those who advertise on those media (Sky/ 2GB etc). Or support online advertising to demonstrate mass media's weaknesses...
