As the 'alternative' candidate he had an opportunity to gain some ground lost. The public may have ( and still might) forgiven him for Bradburying the job but I think many might have turned back away.

He only needed to say ' I have a faith that has guided me through my life , it is personal but strong' then left it. But oh no he had to start preaching.
Totally what I was thinking.

I don’t care what someone’s personal belief system is, but that’s way out of line and over the top.

Not to mention setting himself up for huge accusations of hypocrisy.

Health and Education are generally seen as State issues
whereas
Economy, jobs, immigration, defence are more Federal.

This is why the ALP would need to be careful because WA, Queensland and Victoria all have key marginals and have state ALP governments.

Lowering immigration levels would be a potential vote winner but like any issue there is the risk the government would lose support for it elsewhere.

I don't give a shit what his religion is. I only wish he would do the same.
I understand the sentiment, but I'm not really sure if a guy who possibly believes in faith healing should be anywhere near being in charge of anything related to the health system.

I actually don't have a problem with the majority of religion as a philosophical/moral code for people provided they're not pushy about it, but I think Pentecostalism crosses the line into whackjob-ness, as in, it's more akin to having an anti-vaxxer as PM than a Buddhist or something.

As opposed to someone who thinks crossing your legs or prayer is the best contraception?

Whatever you think of him, his wife and kids aren’t fair game.
I'm not saying people should target his wife and kids (not even sure the post was targeting the family, Morrison's ascension has been described as lipstick on a pig for the Liberal Party several times). But let's be clear, he's parading his wife and kids in the media to advance his political agenda, paint himself as a good family man. He's put them in the game.
