Pretty funny, you of all people describing others as "cheerleaders" when your "contribution" never rises above the level of content-free puerile barracking.FMD you lefty cheer leaders are a sad bunch of losers, what a melt there will be here when scomo wins the next election![]()

Cause it is protocol. Why would anyone think it is in the best interest of the Prime Minister or nation to tell everyone where he is visiting and when as it can lead to his safety wellbeing being put at risk.
Nah man, he vaguely recalls hearing it on the radio.Huh no it isn't protocol.

The difference being one side of the electorate is happy to keep the feet over the fire of the politicians who - supposedly - represent them.Guess that’s what happens when the idiots on the other side are just as clueless.
Rabbitt is probably really shat off.Wonder what Abbott thinks of Morrison sitting on the beach while he is battling an inferno.
Nah man, he vaguely recalls hearing it on the radio.
TimmeT wouldn't mind some evidence of this "protocol"
At the risk of placing pennies on the tracks of the PM bashing train here, if anyone can list previous dates and destinations of Scomo and a few recent former PM's personnel holidays, without extensive research, I'd be very surprised?
The security protocols in place by the department of Prime Minister Cabinet do not permit the public disclosure of any advance or current information pertaining to the PM's personnel holidays! Only the PM or acting PM can approve of exceptions.
For one thing, during the PM's regular 'official' overseas travel/visits, he/she is usually accompanied by three, sometimes four AFP bodyguards, who often coordinate with the visiting countries relevant security agencies etc.- however when the PM travels on personnel leave/ holidays, depending on the destination, it's usually just one bodyguard.
Still, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story - the PM ran away, while his country was burning, he was deliberately in hiding etc. etc...
That's fine, I have no issue with that. Was just wondering if it was factual or not.At the risk of placing pennies on the tracks of the PM bashing train here, if anyone can list previous dates and destinations of Scomo and a few recent former PM's personnel holidays, without extensive research, I'd be very surprised?

That's pretty much most posts by everybody in this thread.Pretty funny, you of all people describing others as "cheerleaders" when your "contribution" never rises above the level of content-free puerile barracking.
It is differently the case that a trip to a war zone wouldn't be announced beforehand but if a leader was gong on leave then the media usually knows it and many previous PM's openly promote where they were going but in the case the PMO appears to have wanted Morrison being on leave kept quiet.
Please say personal instead of personnel, you're triggering me.I won't dispute your opinion, but please note the PM's 'official' travel is publicly known sometimes 18 months ahead, whereas the PM's 'personnel' holiday travel is usually not well known, for the reasons I outlined...
I think this is the most disappointing part of this story. I couldn't give two shits about where ScoMo is while the country is burning because ScoMo's not a firefighter and the allocation of those resources is a state issue, both of which are being handled about as adequately as humanly possible given the circumstances. I'm more concerned about his role after the fires - increased hazard reductions, looking after volunteers financially, water sourcing, etc.Still, don't let the facts get in the way of a good story - the PM ran away, while his country was burning, he was deliberately in hiding etc. etc...
