Scott West,new assistant coach!

Repoted in Fridays edition of the Herald Sun (21/11/08) that Scott West has joined the club on a part time basis as assistant coach,he will be working with the midfield group as you would expect!Very happy to hear of this appointment.

Would be a terrific signing for the club, he has so much experience, great work eithc and skill of the game, all of which could be passed on to our young midfielders.

Nice signing, but it's only on part-time role and Mark Williams will still remain the midfield coach.

Heard them mention it on SEN just then, they'll 'officially' announce it later this morning.

Great signing IMO, yes Williams is still the midfield coach but West will still be a great influence. I was a little disappointed that we didn't go harder after Harvey, who has signed to Carlton in a similar part-time midfield role, but i think West could be just as good a coach.

Gave everything as a player and widely respected for his football brain. Hopefully after a year or 2 we can get him in a full time role.

We've done really well here.

Not that our other coaching staff won't command respect but West, being a fresh ex-player (who would have played against some of these guys briefly), will be the sort of coach that the youngsters will really listen to. About time we took on someone like this guy at the club.

Part time coach who is to focus on the 'stoppages' side of the game, he will also be sitting in the box on gameday.

I'm pretty happy with this pick-up, however hopefully he won't encourage our players to handball more

Great another member of our coaching staff who can't kick the footy! We have no troubles getting it but a lot of trouble using it! West was not exactly the best ball user ever (not slagging, he was the heart and soulf of whitten oval and a star of the game)

Hopefully he can teach Jones and Moloney to be a lot smarter with their disposal.

When I woke to the news that we had this ledgend I was really . When I saw him on the TV I thought "Man I wish we had this guy earlier" Pleased as Punch I was.
