Not who is in and out specifically. The philosophy of selection this week.
Here is what I would say if I was picking the team this week:

1. Silvagni must stay in. In a team of marshmallows this guy never shirks a contest. He puts his body on the line every time it's his turn. He backs himself to take marks and he hates to lose. Get rid of Duffield if we have to make room for him. I don't give a **** if he isn't the best kick in the team. We need players who will make a statement with their desire to win every contest.

2.McPhee comes back. Bit of a no brainer but with he and SOS in the team we have some hardcore kamikazes. Tell them to tackle, shepherd and hurt the opposition. I wouldn't care if he got suspended, make a statement.

3. Hill to a wing. Not a centre bounces not following the ball. Running end to end on one side of the ground. Receiving from the defenders, running the ball through the centre and taking the game on. License to have shots on goal from anywhere in the 55M arc. Bounce the ball, take the game on, run around players. Run as hard and as far as you can Steven.

4. DeBoer and Lower to the centre bounce. I remember DeBoer winning the first 2 clearances of a game last year and never going in there again. What is that shit? One job Matty. Go straight at the ball in dispute, hit the contest as hard as is humanly possible, get the ball and distribute it. Follow the clearances around the ground and be a wrecking ball. Run straight, hard and fast at the ball in dispute.

5. **** defensive forwards. Lets pick forwards who can create and kick goals and have them defend when not in possession but primarily tell them to kick goals. Put Crozier, Walters & Ballantyne in the forward setups and give them license to use all their skills, be as hungry as they want. Just kick goals.

6. Find someone apart from Hill that is prepared to run end to end all game and offer some spread and linking up from clearances. No more players standing flat footed inside the back half casting around desperately for someone, anyone that wants to take responsibility to carry the ball. Lets give Sheridan a chance, tell him to run and carry.

7. It's balls to the wall from here. If you don't give effort you're out. I don't care who you are. I'd rather see us line up with Menagola, Sutcliffe, Sheridan, Neale, Crozier than flakes who have had too many chances. I know this last is stupid and unrealistic but I'm not actually in charge so I can say what I want and have some fun with it :)

They are trying to teach Sheridan that. He usually gets the hard ball and sets up with handball. Has elite running ability and tends to be a goal kicker so no reason he couldn't learn.
Like the rest.
Compared Suban to him the other day. At half time Suban had 10 kicks and 3 handballs and Sheridan had 3 kicks and 10 handballs

Sounds good E shed, all is not lost yet, at least Lyon is saying the right things, his media work is about the only positive after the derby.
We still have plenty of time to turn things around.

Agree, especially number 5. We don't even have a forward press system any more, so what's the point of running with a defensive forward like De Boer in there? Mayne did as good a job as anyone this season as a defensive forward (on Fisher) and he's leading in the goals. Our forwards should be all about goal scoring opportunities.

I also agree with number 5. I watched Ballas in te defensive 20m. He wasn't getting clearences and you don't kick goals in the oposition back half so why not put him as the crumbing forward.

Id love to see Walters or Crozier get a gig as the only forward kicking goals so far has been Mayne.

1. Silvagni must stay in....agreed

2.McPhee comes back...agreed

3. Hill to a wing....we have no positions anymore so whether he is on a wing or half back flank it does not appear to matter. On Sunday my suggestion was shove him at CHF and have our midfield kick it over his head to run onto ...though I had drunk 10 beers, was wearing a sequin shirt, was looking into the sun and had purple viking horns on.

4. DeBoer and Lower to the centre bounce....as long as it is not the same time

5. **** defensive forwards....I'd still have one

6. Find someone apart from Hill that is prepared to run end to end all game and offer some spread and linking up from clearances. I think we need to find 3 ...Sherridan in agreed - hope Morra is getting near.

7. Let's start drawing a line through those who are not the answer.

By the way if you play 3 rucks how can we fail to get near forward ruck contests?? Freakin amazing

On PR tonight Ross said at least another 4 to 5 weeks :(

Lyon mentioned he's going to inject some speed into the side.
Could only come from mora or sherro?

Another point that was made by Ross, make some changes through midfield.
Not sure who? Our midfield depth at moment is just so bad.
You look at the pies, no ball or swan no worries, beams & sidedbottom will take up the slack.Take note hilly, these guys are the same age as you.

Isn't there something about guns and messengers? Paul Kelly song about it?

I've Done All Those Dumb Things ....no actually that is our new club song ;)

Listening to Ross tonight, he seemed to hint in his discussion that he wasn't a big fan of Silvagni and he feels it's a choice between he and Dawson.

He talked about Silvagni being a major cause of the lack of run on the weekend.

I wouldn't expect him to stay in...

EDIT: Just read this discussed in the 6PR thread...derr!

Can't really fault any of that!

We desperately need a bit of speed (not the MJ kind either) and contested ball winning ability in our midfield. Sheridan or Sutcliffe have to be looked at, as does Lower. de Boer is wasted on the half forward line, especially given our diabolical clearance/contested work. Not so sure about Mayne in the midfield, but anything is worth a try I suppose.

Since our tall forward options are threadbare, we may as well utilize our smaller goal kicking talent in Crozier, Walters etc. They've got more chance of winning us games than Zac Clarke playing on 3 opponents does.

As an extension of your last point, I hope at least one of our more 'senior' team members is dropped this week, namely Duffield or Crowley.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't these guys get picked up very late in the draft. Hire this drafting team immediately. Only have had one or two stand outs from each year's draft for us since 07. Rest either in WAFL or delisted.

Please Lord, just bring in Spurr ASAP.

Every week he's sitting on the bench not earning me money hurts my bye round trading.

Another really good example of footballer first, athlete second.

What happened to the team that beat Geelong and St Kilda?

And the team that only lost to the Swans by 13 points and Carlton by 8 points?

Is it because Fyfe isn't playing or is there another reason as to why we suck big time at the moment?
