Sell St Kilda a key defender

This thread like many here are off topic. Would the saints trade for pears? Essendon would try to nab saints first round and give saints pears and 2nd round pick. If saints lose Goddard and receive first round pick would they roll the dice? Essendon would use this pick to try and grab caddy.

Cheers for trying to get it back ontrack.

Not sure Pears is worth an 20 place upgrade into the first round, that's serious movement even if the Saints have a second pick from Goddard.

Pears isn't really what we're looking for anyway, he's the same height as Simpkin, Dempster, Big Fish, shorter than Ferguson. We need a gorilla back, it's the Clokes, Franklins and even Coxes that are monstering us.

why would you ruin pedersons career by playing him in the VFL :S he clearly would be better suited somewhere else.
We had an incredible run with injuries this year. We hardly had any aside from Hamish McIntosh. The good money says that won't happen again next year, thus Pedersen will be really handy and will definitely get games. He can play forward, back and pinch hit in the middle - so he is cover for about 12 guys at the club.

If you guys are so keen on this bloke, why didn't you draft him one of the 6-7 times he nominated?

While I don't really buy it;

Meanwhile, Delaney's manager, Greg Size of Deliver Sports Management, told AFL.com.au that Delaney, who is contracted to North until the end of next season, is happy at Aegis Park but would consider a trade to a club that could offer him more senior opportunities.

"There has been strong interest from other clubs but at this stage Luke regards himself as a North Melbourne player," Size said.

"Luke loves playing for North but if a club comes forward and offers him more opportunity to play senior footy then he'd have to consider it.

"At the moment, Luke is picked every time the opposition has a gorilla forward, which is about 10-12 times a year.

"But he's coming into his peak now as a player and wants to cement a senior spot."

Delaney played alongside first-choice key defenders Scott Thompson and Nathan Grima in just three games this season.

He replaced the injured Grima in round 21 but was dropped for North's elimination final against West Coast when Grima proved his fitness.

Delaney's younger brother and fellow key defender Cameron, 20, recently re-signed with North until the end of 2015.

A North spokesman told AFL.com.au on Wednesday Delaney was a required player and said the club would not comment on the upcoming trade period.

id love him at st.kilda but just a shame for his talents to go to waste and IMO i would have him before alot of players in your side.

I'm guessing the 2 you are referring to would be Hansen and Tarrant, because with anyone else you'd be mistaken. And fair enough, they are both far from the complete product. But North did invest first round draft picks on both of them, whilst Pedersen was just a rookie, so I can understand them wanting to give these blokes every chance to make it.

They both had poor first halves of 2012 but finished really well. If they can find another gear, we'll be laughing. If we have Pedersen as back-up in case they don't, then that would make us all feel better about things too.

haha yep was referring to them two. but as you say they can't play everyone. and they have put more into them two so why not play them i just think pederson is such a diamond in the rough. and could be anything given the right game time :)

What's the go with Hanson? Does he go alright as a defender?

Cripps > WC
Stevens & pick 43 via StK > North
Hanson > StK

I'm not sure of Hanson's value, just throwing it out there.

Thread seems to be StKilda supporters asking for a KPB and then either rubbishing the players put up or rubbishing the deals for decent available players.

OP should of read:

"Give StKilda your first or second best KPB for a mid to late second rounder at best, and be happy about it"

And they wonder why the FB position has been Zac Dawson followed by Beau Wilkes...

Perhaps WC unwanted one in Brown for a third rounder is all that's required.

Pretty sure no "first or second best KPD" has come been discussed.

Well the point is we need someone to be our number 1 key defender, so they obviously have to be at least half decent.

I agree, you cant win a premiership without one. The problem is.. they just dont exist unless you are willing to pry them from the cold dead hands of opposition list managers.

The best you will get has all ready been mentioned and no StKilda fan seems to be happy with them outside of Pederson for cheap who may be a pretty good player but I doubt he will be monstering Buddy, Hawkins, Cloke on a weekly basis.

I wouldn't mind if we picked up Luke Delaney, just seeing if there are better options that haven't been discussed yet
