Selwood suspended for 3 weeks

Hopefully Guerra will have a long memoery for the next time Selwood ducks his head infront of him .

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. That is the Hawthorn way after all...

Won't do him any harm to have a break.

Looks like he was dobbed in though.
That's a pretty pathetic suggestion. No way would guerra have dobbed him in. We don't do that at Hawthorn. We would have handed over our medical report just like every club has to when asked. Do you really think the AFL would suspend a player for 3 weeks just because the other player dobbed him in with no proof. Seriously, get over yourself you self-righteous twit. Deserved every week and should have got more. Yet your so blind you probably think Guerra "dobbed him in" and that is the dog act in all of this. Pathetic.

Re: Selwood hit beind play

Fair result.

THE MATCH Review Panel has come down hard on Geelong midfielder Joel Selwood, offering him a three-match ban for striking Hawk Brent Guerra on Saturday night.

As I posted earlier, it was classed as High, High impact and intentional drawing 8 activation pts and 425 pts and 4 games. Early pleas reduces it 3 games.

How did they come to the ruling then?

Suck it up, princess. Won't be seeing a Brownlow winner out of the Cats this year :thumbsu:

Gutless act.

So you don't rate Bartel's or Kelly's season's so far?

Three weeks for an incident behind the play resulting in serious bodily harm! The MRP is a joke. The formula they use is ridiculous for something that could be a police matter. If the AFL can't handle incidents such as these then a different sort of court is needed!

There is no excuse for any player from any club engaging in assault.

No clear footage, no witnesses.

How else could they come to a ruling without someone dobbing him in?

A medical report and for an expert opinion on suspension without vision ask one S Baker.

There is no denying that they were standing together
There is no denying that guerra went down
There is no denying that guerra left the field and didn't return (only minutes to go though)
There is no denying that guerra is still in hospital with a perforated eardrum and as a result balance issues

Did you seriously think they were just going to ignore it

First of all, all this 'dobbed him in' talk is ridiculous. If he did it, he deserves the punishment, doesn't matter how they find that evidence.

Secondly, 'damage' should never ever be a key indicator in the MRPs decision making. It is completely bullshit that a perfectly legal tackle that caused injury, and an intentional elbow/punch get the same time off.

I think the suspension was abit soft considering the nature of the incident and the injury suffered by the victim..5 to 6 weeks would have been more apropiate.

It will be like he never left when his mate Allen slots in next week

"Decision was reached following testimony from Guerra as well as the Hawthorn medical report".

Hmmmm...

What was that again, 1ciggieleft?

Personally, I'm glad he'll get a break, it won't hurt us long term.
