Here's my cat Murphy. He's absolutely insane and we all love him so much, he's a rescue cat who we got about 3 years ago now

He's a moggy and has a little black "goatee" underneath his chin. He's well and truly a scaredy cat but he's very friendly when he gets comfortable with you

And then Murphy's biggest foes. We were worried when we got him that he'd attack our chooks. Turns out the chooks showed him their strength, scared him and now he won't go anywhere near them haha. They own the backyard.

They're two ISA browns Mango and Chickpea (Mango on the left and Chickpea on the right) they're both very friendly and love just roaming around the garden.

My best mate has a bunch of chickens who have bullied 2 pittys and a rotty into submission.

Never realised how much value, comedy wise, chickens are. And they have some balls on them too.

Murphy looks like a sweet little thing. I've never met a rescue animal I didn't like.

Chooks tend to form up with a grumpy boss. Fox or dog, problem, cat, I’m not messing with that.

This. My chooks spent 20 minutes trying to peck their way into a glass jar of nuts. Turns out they haven't quite figured out the concept of glass yet

Aww this thread makes me want to get a pet too :)

I was only allowed goldfish growing up and now my life situation isn’t conductive to it :(

Someday when timing is better in health , life and work sense - I’ll get a dog (husky :3) or more likely two

In the meantime I’ll stick to being a devoted pet sitter and patter :)

and living vicariously through people who have pets that post them here.

There's a bloke that lives at the truck yard I store my trucks at, his girl gave birth to a litter a little bit ago. Here is a photo of some of them in a brief moment of peace.

My mate took one of their brothers and I have my eye on the little brown girl on the left of the photo. She is a bit of a runt and a massive sweetheart. This is my mates puppy Einstein. IMG_20200223_162127.jpg

An absolute bull. No manners, but very lovey.

Didn't realise they bred dogs with snakes now a days
At my last property I had a really stupid dog (who is now with my ex). I was poisoning rabbits so always tried to get out and check before him. One morning I realised I didn’t know where he was. Checked. I found him with the rear end of a fat, dead rabbit sticking out of his gob. Forced him to drop it. The whole ****ing thing...

Yeah my boy has been having a go at the possums around here. Caught him the other night the same way. Big ol possum half out. Idiots... If I don't stop them they leave weird little ritualistic offerings of possum corpse arranged strangely by the back shed. I'd post a photo of it, but I feel it might be against BF rules.

Stupid dog. Your nearest vet would have been a little too far I'd imagine if he managed to get the whole thing down.......

I would have just called them: Chook and Other Chook

I found him one day with the best part of a metre of cow guts hanging out.

I've lived around cats long enough to know that they do the same with birds, rats, mice and anything that is small enough to drag around.

You love your pets but my gawd, they do the stupidest things

I really don’t think he could have, but am very happy I didn’t have to go in myself.

He wouldn't have given it up without a fight either. Tug of war with a dead rabbit..... I don't like to think how that could have ended

Years ago some fella gave me some pit game chooks, hens in fact. Now they are psycho...one of my old English game roosters jumped the fence thinking he'd have his way with them...was dead within a minute before I could even get in there. When you only have hens, the 'alpha' one will take up the usual rooster tasks of being in charge

Its the displaying them in such an odd way, right in my oath that weird me out. Something a serial killer would do. They look so purposefully placed.

****ing hell, they weren't messing around!

Yep.

Not sure what part of natural animal instinct that would fall under??

Nope. They were a breed of fighting chooks, but the bloke that gave them to me used to breed them for shows. I didn't have them for long as I moved and gave all my poultry away. I had over a hundred fowl, Old English game, some assorted breeds and muscovy ducks and a couple of pyscho geese as well. Geese are on another level
