To be fair to Nathan Scollo, he was a defender whilst Ashcroft, Clarke and Sheezel were playing the glory positions in the mids and forwards.

Without Nathan Scollo at CHB (I think he had 7 intercept marks in the Grand Final), the Sandy Dragons don't win that Grand Final and remember they came from 8th after the whole Home and Away season so Nathan Scollos whole finals series was of a very high standard.

We agree that Nathan Scollo at SNFL level is a top class player.
Also the dragons won the gf by easy i remember they were up by over 10 goals at 3/4 time.

that’s wrong also dragons finished top 4.
Scollo had one mark in gf he was also tried up fwd that year was dropped and come back and was solid as a defender.
I’m not knocking him either as i said big fan.
In 2022, when Nathan Scollo played, the Sandringham Dragons finished 8th at the end of the home and away season on 28 points. Gippsland Power finished on top with 40 points. After winning their first final by 10 points against the Murray Bushrangers, where Nathan Scollo was 3rd best in a defensive struggle, yes, they beat the Dandenong Stingrays easily in the grand final.

Nathan Scollo played 13 games for the Sandringham Dragons in 2022 and was in the best 5 times, so he had a pretty good year by anyone standards.

And we all agree he is a huge asset this year to Murrumbeena.

Who is this Nathan Scollo fella?
He is the 21-year-old young gun, former Sandy Dragon, former De La Salle now with Murrumbeena who could win 6 or 7 B and Fs at the club over his career. He is the type of great personality extremely talented player you can build a club around and he has ended up at Murrumbeena just at the right time as the club tries to create a niche for itself in Div 1.

Going to need more than Saturday nights effort on debut to get to that mark, or Beena end up back in Div 2

As well as being a fantastic young footballer, Nathan Scollo is very active in the community helping to feed and shelter the poor and the homeless.

He is the type of guy you can build a team and a community around.

Moving in a different direction.....

an astonishing realism is that either
Cheltenham could be 0-2 leading into Easter OR
Springvale might be 0-3 leading into ANZAC day round

All hypotheticals, but Division 1 won't be taking any prisoners this season

If Dingley Dell lose Jack Mullen for the season after his little altercation, it will bring them back to the field.

How good is it! Aside from the fact that Dingley look to be the one after demolishing Chelt. Any team can beat any team on their day. Fantastic competition at a very good standard too
It's been a long time but finally the league is seeing a nice even spread across Div 1.

Back when I played seniors it was top 2/3 and then the rest were usually making up numbers.

Great to see

Yes Greg, that's all you can ask from any league. To have every game with the chance to go either way and that is what brings the mug punters back to eat the pies and drink the beer which helps the growth of the game locally.

Cheltenham were 0-2 in 2022 and got well beaten by Cranbourne on Good Friday in 2023

Yes, we are still ruffling around in the bushes and coaches are still working out their best line ups and some of the cricketers have only started back with teams a week or so ago, so they will get better as they get more run and carry into them.
