I'n hearing good wraps on him. Liam is a two time Division 1 League B&F winner (Ellis medal) as well as a two time premiership player at St Paul’s. Liam Wilson played with some of the Southern league’s best before jumping into the coaching box. They have a very good backroom set The Doggies are a pretty well-oiled machine. Theo only problem for them is Matthew Kreymborg is starting to get older and more injury prone. He has been the heart and soul of that team for ten years.

I played in two flags with Willo, he's an absolute star but an even better human being. Very happy he's come back into the fold at Dogland.

Ex Allstars advertising for an assistant playing coach , but haven't officially announced a head coach
Rumour Mill rife , 5 All Stars off to Avondale Heights poached by an ex senior coach with an open cash book? Current Captain also on his way out with a few also rumoured to be Mpnfl? Asked around about him, seems to have a few knockers , anyone aware which club?

Avondale Heights play in the second division of EDFL so more $$$ for a marginal step down in standard…..easy money! Who are the 5 Kahofer has targeted?
Most All Stars posters gone into hiding since club self imploded mid season so probably won’t hear from any of them 🤷🏼‍♂️

Cochrane to Avondale heights
Love-linay to Chelsea
Cochrane handy player on his day, must be strong cash to travel north he has been at All Stars for a fair while, must have a strong relationship with the ex coach?

Love Linay from all reports struggled post knee and a few good judges tell me he didn’t meet the grade of the competition and that his body wasn’t up to division 1 , surprised though that the captain has walked and chosen Mpnfl , and a top end competing club too, will he get a game? Will All Stars have enough to fill 2 teams and compete division 1 ?

What is going on at the All Stars? Fascinating. There are factions behind the scenes trying to remove the Committee. Super coach hasn't even been announced as the new coach on their socials. Advertising for a playing assistant.

Who are the 5 players leaving for Avendale Heights? Andrew Kahofer would have strong links to a lot of the boys at EBV having helped them regain status by promotion to Div 1 in his day there. Someone at Avendale Heights has deep pockets.

Blake Cochrane is gone. Kai Love Linay gone. Ben Reid no doubt.

Love-Linay whilst a good Div 2 player, struggled with the step up in class to the higher grade. Wasn’t regularly getting a game in his younger years at Div 1 MPNFL Edi-Asp, so not sure he is cut out for higher standard.

Rumour mill has also suggested EB had 30 people turn up to the BnF, and they were so embarrassed by the turn out they decided to post-pone the life membership awards they were planning on handing out.

What is Downie doing? When the exodus happened this season, he put the team on his back and performed superbly. I'd be suprised if he sticks around as he is too good to plod around at a club that has a lot of mess to clean up. Am too hearing rumblings over Cranbourne potentially staying up, although unsure of the reason.

Embarrassing if true. Some good people who have been involved for a long time at EB and this sort of turn out would be an insult to them. While sometimes attending social and sponsors events can be a grind, attendance at the B&F is not negotiable. Indicative of a club in real trouble in this is correct as it seems the playing group and maybe even the supporters have checked out. Jon Edgar would have second thoughts hearing this.

Wow 30 people, assuming that a few were partners, that is hardly the coaching staff and half the senior team plus the bloke who won the reserves b and f and the kid who won the u19s b and f and his mum. Devastating predicament for a club that was going to shake the SNFL up. And with such a fantastic junior affiliate program as well. The club is on its knees.

The club has been in worst positions before (2016) when it could only field 1 senior side in D1. The reserves were basically Bentleigh 3rds playing under EB name. They got through that rough period and got money back in the bank. They were solid for a long time in D2 consolidating their finances and stable on field performances. Not sure their strategy in blowing the budget in a 3 year period (2023-2025) was the best idea. Was the D2 flag and what’s followed been worth it? We will wait and see…

Since their inception back into Division 1 , they have just looked like a basket case from the outside. The jury was out on the coach from a long way out and then this season he looked as though he was well and truely out of his depth then he’s thrown the white flag up and drowned in expectation mid season. Then the rumours of finance issues and player walk outs pre June 30 then the news the past couple days of the captain walking out when the goings got tough. The only chapter left for the All Stars to close the book and top off the current shenanigans is probably the President walking and throwing in the towel (that probably won’t and doesn’t happen) but the way they have gone the past 18 months it’s probably the last position to be vacated! And if it happens they will be the Pin up club of what to never ever do for all future committees and clubs

The All Stars example is something all clubs in each league should take notice of. You need to be financially prudent and slowly build with a level of consistency each year and off field stability both at Committee level and in the coaching ranks.
