Wikipedia reckons St Kilda City Sharks started up in 1992. I can certainly remember St Kilda City having women's footy later in the 90s - way back before women's footy was a thing (or the thing it is now).

True sharks finished up long ago and 2025 was the first in local competition. I'm a local and watched many home games and the work the female president has done in her first year was brilliant.

i think some clubs just don’t care much about that stuff
seems more common in the higher grades where everyone gets a freebie

Or maybe it’s because they were getting a new logo so didn’t waste money on stuff with the old logo on it? That would make more sense
