This is exactly what I have been getting at.

Wake up.

I do not give him a break on that. Not when he gets 'injured' in every game. It's gone on way too long and some of us see through this shit.

Loser's limp: An ailment or impediment, typically manifested through injury, that is feigned or exaggerated by a competitor to explain a poor performance.
Look I’m going to explain a few things and I hope you listen.

Now losers limp can be a bit of a thing at junior level, seen it plenty. It’s the point where kids transition to higher levels and can’t cope. All kinds of weird and wonderful soft tissue injuries. Then a week before R1 they’re ok. Think the coaches are stupid. They fall away of course as the workloads required just isn’t for them - and that’s fine.

To get where this young man has got to - regular AFL selection - he had worked and gone through physical pain and exhaustion that you and I couldn’t understand. Now you need to re think your comments - losers limp does exist for sure - but not at this level

You're entitled to that view. A lot of people can't cope with criticisms of our players.

He'll do it again soon enough, I'll let that do the talking from here. I've said my piece.

Has been excellent in these first 2 weeks, played with more urgency. Last year seemed disinterested & not prepared to bust his ass. Now we just need to see it continue more often than not over an extended period. Couldn't drop him on current form. Love what he brings when he's up & about.

You're kidding yourself if you think players don't have different pain thresholds

Even at elite level there will be Michael Wilson's who can win grand finals with two shoulders needing operations vs players who cop one bump in a game then go missing.

There will be players who are the first ones into the physio room for massages for every ailment vs players who play all year before getting scans on a sore spot and finding out it's stuffed

I find this a really weird thread.

People want to focus on being more/less injured when he actually played a great game?

For those criticising, did you actually think he played well?

Come on. Of course different people have different pain thresholds. The person i responded to was talking about “losers limp”. Entirely different.

Anyone thinks you can fake your way through pathways to regular AFL obviously has no understanding of what’s involved.

That's just a term

The issue is that he crumples to the ground as though badly injured, comes off the ground. Then is back on minutes later fine.

No not “just a term” - it’s a term that’s been used and given meaning to insult a player and I think that’s wrong. It implies he’s faking. Do you think he’s faking? It’s a strong charge.

He is running a lot with a lot more pace than I've seen him in the last few games so of course you expect him to cramp, I haven't seen him do this previously to suggest this is a habit of his.

He's overplaying his injuries

Stuff other players are bouncing up from he's hobbling to the bench with before being immediately sent back on.

You've acknowledged that people have different pain thresholds. That's all it is.

McAdam had a good game besides the last QTR shank, and the fact he went for a hanger every opportunity.

Im not sure I want him in a sudden death final just yet though
Yeah he started getting back into the the habit of flying for everything. This is something he needs to be instructed on as some of the marking attempts we needed someone on the ground. If he is one on one he has licence to fly for the mark but if there's two or three crows going for the same mark he needs to quickly ascertain the situation and realise he may be needed to crumb the ball. I noticed a couple of occasions a forward spoiled a team mate marking the ball.

Overall I have been really pleased with Shano since he came back into the team. He has come back with a much better attitude and realisation that he needs to play with high intensity to stay in the team.

That one in the goal square I thought he grabbed at his knee
( could be wrong)
I was in the crowd watching that one. My instant reaction was someone faking an injury after ****ing up the play to make people feel sorry for him.
Clearly no injury, as he ran off 2 mins later.

Didn't like it.

There was footage of his knee being checked out on the bench once he went off.

I think it was faked
Not so sure.

Has been injury prone in the past & think he is mindful of reoccurring. He did land awkwardly.

Just conceptually, I don’t think there’s a lot of meaningful difference between a colloquial term like “faking” and someone who might have an atypically low resilience to playing through even low levels of comfort

He’s obviously covering a lot more ground than last year at this point in time, if he cramps up from simply sticking in the forward line I might be a bit worried. It’s not a problem for me if he’s making effort to get involved and putting up good performances
