Thoughts?

I like it. Much less chance of him turning it over for one. Had one shocker of a kick but 3 is a pretty good return.

Since the last quarter a week ago 'Shaw!' has ceased to be a swear word whilst watching the game.

Earlier in the year Roosy did try it once or twice to minimal success and for only short periods of time, but now he has been given a whole game up there he looks really smart with his body work and we all know how quick he is, so he can burn defenders on the lead. I really like the move.

He was really going backwards IMO along HB. His disposal was horribly inconsistent and he was making far too many skill and defensive errors.

I hope he plays there for the rest of the year. We have Mal, Tadhg, Mattner and Bevo (who is playing particularly well) with Smith out to play along HB and take the smalls. We don't need Shaw there.

Take a bow, Roosy.

On RWO I have said play him up the ground for 2 years. We have had a slow forward line for too long and our midfield the same. With Shaw and McGlynn giving fierce competition up forward and their forward defensive mindset our forward line looks reborn.

Only took him 2 years to work it out and 14 weeks to shift Goodes on to the ball.

Well why would he have moved Rhyce there last year when he was playing well for us off HB as our runner? We had no Tadhg and no Mal. So it was just Rhyce and Mattner and Rhyce was playing well so there was no way he was going to move him then.

He has looked pretty good up forward, but at the end of the day, he isn't a great shot for goal so I don't know if I like it as a permanent move.

I think it's a shaw thing.....

ha ha ha

with a new username to boot. oh its fantastic <3

Some kudos have to go to the master tactician Brett Ratten who in his infinate footballing wisdom decided to play a tagger on him instead of a defender.

The unpredictability of where Shaw will play, that is the bonus

Agreed. He went to HB for a while and was effective. I think he lost the defender that had moved onto him and this may have been the reason for the move.

Malthouse has used rapid midfield rotations causing much confusion. Is Roos now going to do that from midfield to up front? Not just one off for this Carlton game? Seems to suit the current team to me.

I reckon he's doing well for himself up forward. Took a few nice marks

Although i thought he was getting caught behind the defender too much. Maybe just his timing in where to lead and when to lead is off, but understandab;e all things considered.
