Should Chris Smith be elevated?

chrsco rates Pratt, which is a good thing. I trust chrsco's opinion, particularly of young swans players. Pretty sure he badly injured his shoulder about halfway through the season after he'd played just a few games in the seniors, then missed the rest of the season. But chrsco reckons he's a talented small defender, so hopefully they'll hang onto him for an other year to get over his injury and have a go at proving himself worthy of a senior spot.

I'd say another go on the rookie list is about the right place. Can't see us making any rookie elevations, we're better off taking as many as possible from a strong draft.

The fact he is tagging at WAFL level isnt a great sign. You'd generally want a kid to be dominating the WAFL and then move on to AFL ranks where he would try out tagging if he wasnt finding enough of the pill in his own right. I dont recall any player tagging at WAFL level and then doing the same thing at AFL ranks. Especially in the day where a tagger needs to be finding the ball as well as stopping his man. I havent seen much of Smith but is he even doing that at WAFL level?

We had James Thompson who had a very good WAFL season playing on the oppositions best player each week. He had some awesome games on some very good player but it just doesnt translate to AFL level. Thats why we delisted him.

He did ok on cossom and hildebrandt yesterday he swapped between the 2 and seemed to be effective in shutting them out when he was on them.

I have been wondering what we drafted this kid as and it seems it was a medium forward yet i have never seen him play forward at swans.

On the AFL website it says he kicked 13 goals in 3 games for QLD in the u/18's as a leading medium forward??
