Think they have a personality problem with the likes of Oliver etc. On paper they should be good, but they have dudes running around who don't give a **** and have ego issues. Need to cut them out and reboot with the kids.

Harvey Langford today put most of their mids to shame, and hes a second gamer.

No Man's Land is getting a bit crowded now.
No mans land is being stuck in purgatory.. Think the real no mans land.. Essendon

Stuck between 7th - 15th for the best part of two decades

St.Kilda even look like they have there shit sorted.. Melbourne just look like legging it to the bottom handful

Looking like spoon contenders at the moment.

Really should have won 2 or 3 flags with the list they had.

People forget how good they were travelling in the first couple of months 2022 after the flag. They were destroying teams and it was looking like a dynasty. Then they just...kind of lost their aura?
Got found out at the G against Fremantle in about round 11. In fact we were smashed.

Drank their bathwater

Those back-to-back straight sets finals exits probably did damage than what we think
Which in all seriousness was a complete backline failure. When May and Lever have a rough night, they are going to leak 3 or 4 goals.

If you don’t have a rock solid coherent back 6 working together like a well oiled machine..then you’ll lose the semi or pre lim to an inform likewise team who has a decent mid and fwd line personal.

And of course Gawn has been a massive part of their modern day recent success and now he’s finally slowing down.

All empires eventually fall…

This.
Also it takes so much more than good luck with recruiting players.
Richmond was rebuilding from the Mid 80s to mid teens. It wasn't until we got our Board, admin, coaching/assistant coaches, development and high performance staff, finance, recruiting network etc. etc. etc. that we got some success after a biblical period in the wilderness.
There's absolutely no guarantee that the current rebuild will pay off
Richmond were forced into their current predicament by equalisation, lack of player development, horrific run of injuries, quality players leaving, management change, coach bailing mid season etc. We were lucky we got some good deals and lots of picks in what was apparently a very good draft year. It wasn't something Richmond planned in 2023 or early 2024. It's just how it worked out. In the best case scenario, were not contending again for several years.

It's not scorched earth because we've still got lots of experienced premiership players to provide some protection and leadership, but a massive gamble none the less and not one you'd take deliberately.
Always respected your wise opinion Grin.

That post 1982 grand final period for Richmond was brutal. There was the player wars between Richmond and Collingwood in the mid 1980s where players switched from one team to the other.

But I say the slow gradual turn around was when Kevin Bartlett coached your side from 1988 to 1991. Yeah Richmond won only 27 games in that 4 year period.

The most important bit was some young blokes in Wayne Campbell, Matty Knights and Brendon Gale for their debut games and development under the Kevin Bartlett 1988-91 period.

That set up Richmond regularly contending for finals between 1994-2001.
