Oh wise board I have a friend who is going to purchase tickets for the showdown this weekend and was looking to sit in a crow pro area (lots of other crows fans). Is there an area like this in showdowns and if so where abouts.

I'm a keen believer of sitting amongst a variety of fans at a showdown. That way you can involve yourself in crowd banter, teeth counting and youngest pregnant woman hunting.

There will be lucky to be 16k Port supporters there. It's a Sunday twighlight game and when you factor in that they are playing badly, they are expecting to get thumped and they know that the Crows supporters will be out for blood after they prematurely celebrated after the first showdown there is plenty of incentives for Port supporters to stay home..

plus it's cold
live on foxtel
probably close to live on 7
they have to travel the grand total of 2 extra kms from their spiritual home
there's no roof
too many opposition fans
unfavourable timeslot
portbrillance is going and they're embarrassed to be associated with him
riggy1 is going and they don't feel worthy to be in my presence

what else is there?

I think usually behind the northern goals is where the opposition cheersquad usually sits so i think you'll find a good concentration there. (as we are the away team)

I wouldn't give that a go... you'd find yourself in the middle of the Port cheer squad! :p

The southern end is where the Crows cheer squad will be :thumbsu:

I thought the southern end was where we usually sit but i thought as it's a Port game that would change. Wont matter anyway. You'll have more problems with the bay covers than the amount of port supporters.

The official Port cheersquad sits behind the Northern goals, and the away team sits behind the Southern goals.

The official Crows cheersquad sits behind the Southern goals, and the away team sits behind the Northern goals.

Then when we meet for the Showdown, no matter who the away team is, they're always sitting in the same spot they'd have as the home team.

Prevents confusion.

Port Cheersquad #1 is behind the Northern goals (Bay 119 :p)
Port Cheersquad #2 is behind the Southern goals
Port Cheersquad #3 is on the outer wing
for Port home games the away team's cheer squad is 2 or 3 bays towards the East from Port Cheersquad #2
Sounds like they lead the league in cheer squads.

Three cheer squads but nothing to cheer

Either in jail or rehab? Probably on live at Yatala.

Except we sit in Bay140 instead of directly behind the goals in Bay142.

WTF do Port get cheersquads behind each goal square....

Awesome I'm in Bay 143... Of course I didn't realise Port were behind both goals until a couple days ago :(

For the Port home game, are general admission tix available now or 'Reserved Seating'. Looks like it on Ticketmaster, but it says GA is only released tomorrow?

Anybody know how many tickets are left ? Looking at buying my tickets tomorrow, surely it won't sell out before then, if at all ?

aren't they being removed for the Showdown?

They did say if sales are low, some bay covers will remain..

If they get a lot turn up at the gate without tickets though, someone is going to have to make a huge executive decision to remove the bay covers.. :D

I'm near bay 143 too whoever said that before.. Dunno if i'll be able to be too vocal, think i've got a throat infection now (maybe from tearing my throat up on friday night), hoping it clears up by sunday..

Are any general admission tickets being sold though? I've done a couple of searches and Ticketmaster have been offering reserved seats in general admission areas.

Speaking of attendance, have you seen the latest trash Rucci is pedling

Showdown XXIX has become another threat to embarrassing - rather than showcasing - SA football. The tension of the wooden spoon taunt carries the risk of AAMI Stadium becoming the first AFL ground needing to partition rival fans.

The campaign by some Crows fans to boycott the derby to avoid handing money to the Power tarnishes the image of the Showdown - and puts much-valued sponsorship of the event on edge

I think the below picture can sum this up

Can't believe Rucci suggested the fans might need to be separated! God what rubbish! I've been to plenty of Showdowns & never had a problem. I'm going Sunday, should I wear protective gear in case an all in brawl breaks out because someone waves a spoon around? The Advertiser prints some crap sometimes!

Sorry Triggy, but i'm taking my wooden spoons - i believe in an an eye for an eye - and as for karma: well..... as far as i'm concerned if the Crows cant motivate themselves to win this showdown given our situation, then they will deserve to get any criticism metered out.

The only seperation needed is us from him
