It'll get lost in the context of the injury and broader anxieties about his progress but I thought Draper was playing pretty well before the injury. I like him buzzing about at half-forward and, to crib a point Golumless has made a few times, I don't fully understand why we've not tried him there at AFL level.
We have.

They're not good the afl includes auskick figures in the nsw and qld figures to boost them up and excludes them for sa when counting overall junior participation.
Wow ok. Did not know that. Was basing what I said off seeing the growth at a bunch of clubs across Brissy and the Gold Coast that used to really struggle but now seem to be thriving.

Absolute joke that the Sturt player didn't get cited and suspended for a dangerous high hit and intentional raised elbow, players don't raise their elbow when bracing for contact they do the exact opposite tuck the elbow in.
The "raised elbow" was after impact

Sturt Dog no case to answer, but Draper needing surgery on jaw. His season is effectively done.

When can we leave this pissant league?

A league so petty they hand out $250 fines for meaningless stuff to junior clubs.

And dont provide a senior umpire to support a 14 year old in his first game as an umpire. He then has a panic attack and cant umpire an u9s game.

The Sturt player will get his karma.

I don't think what happened to Sid was on Sid.
It was on Sid imho

Tried to tackle head first, putting his head down and in front of the oncoming player. Which is criminal in itself and the first thing players are taught not to do in Under 6 rugby

Put himself in a very vulnerable position

Coomblas' arm can't be anywhere else

I thought you would have been on board with Crows young player coached poorly

I'm also on board the 'SANFL takes our seconds team in to cheat them constantly to pretend they're still relevant' wagon

You wouldn't be saying that if a Centrals player hit him.

Let's hope that isn't tested!

Honestly, what are people seeing here though? I know a Crows player got hurt and it's the SANFL but the nearby Crows players including Fog didn't even remonstrate

A huge blow for Sid but I think he was a fair way selection unfortunately so I don't think it has cost him an AFL game
A depressing truth

A month out here, lost conditioning etc becomes another excuse not to pick him too

Patience grasshoppers. There is still plenty of time for Sid to forge out a very good AFL career. He is only in his second year.
I wonder what his level of belief is like at the moment, in terms of whether he thinks he will be a quality AFL player?

Freak incident, so I'm not worried about the technique, however, Sid really can't buy any luck this season with his health. At least I don't think this one doesn't prevent running or gym work.
