Who is Adam White?

But good luck to Goody! :thumbsu:

I hope he gets plenty of experience and new ideas before coming back to us.

it'll be interesting if the essendon coaching panel looks like,

Senior Coach J Hird
Coach Manager M Williams
Assistant D Laidley
Assistant S Goodwin

Working with Williams surely couldn't be a good thing...............

You forgot the other 7 assistants, director of coaching, apprentice coach, mentor, & tactical match-day assistant. From all reports we will be the first club to have a coach for every player.

It will be difficult enough for Choco or Laidley to be the subordinate coach under a rookie let alone having to compete with each other as well. Laidley gave Choco plenty of space at Port, but that was in a different role.

Adam started out working for Sport 927 ten years ago as one of the assistant producers of the station’s Breakfast Show. Over the years at the station, Adam has virtually done everything possible at Sport 927 with a number of different producing and on-air roles. From being the summer host of Prime Time Sports, a major role in Sport 927’s Spring Carnival coverage, to covering sporting events from around the world, Adam is one of the station’s key on-air reporters and presenters.
Adam also has vast experience in television. Starting at Channel 10 in the newsroom in 2001, he was Fox Footy’s senior sports reporter for five years and has also worked for Channel Nine, Fox Sports, and ESPN.
Adam also works for the ABC as a sports broadcaster and is regularly heard on the ABC’s AFL football coverage each weekend around the country. In 2009, Adam is Sport 927’s AFL reporter, delivering the station all the news in football seven-days-a-week, 24 hours a day, along with being the station’s football betting expert.

Good luck to him :thumbsu:. A couple of years at the Bombers should do him good, and then he'll be prime to come back to us and coach us to our next flag:D.

IMO a strange decision by Goodwin

Given the pending appt of Hird to the top job I would have thought Goody would have been better served working under an experienced senior coach rather than a rookie coach

Weird choice. I thought he'd go to the Saints or Dogs.

Essendon are a strange one. Looks like they'll have hired assistant coaches and gone though trade week without a senior coach.

Hird just said On The Couch that he's applied for the Essendon job but hasn't got it yet.

Said they've discussed having a 'senior assistant' coach working underneath him to help mentor him.

The positive is that with a rookie coach he is likely to have more of a say and will get to have more input, rather than just moving the witches hats and fetching cups of tea like Hart/Clarke.

Its been reported in The Australian that Bomber Thompson may leave Geelong to work as Essendon's "Director of Coaching" or some such, so wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing for him to have access to a Dual premiership coach. By the sounds the Bombers are out to surround Hird with the absolute best, so might be a really good environment for Goody to work in.

Choco will probably have some role to play. He said he'd love to be involved in any way with Essendon and supposing we throw the $$$ like we are with Bomber and Hird then I guess he'll be on board as well.

What are Crows fans views on Choco as a possible mentor/tutor to Goodwin?

i know for a fact that choco only recently bought a house in strathmre, which is right next to essendon... so im sure he will be on the books somewhere...

I'd like it. Bias aside, I believe Williams is a very good coach, with a lot to pass on. Port struggled with resources, so what he did six years ago was very good. He was unlucky to coach at a cash strapped club with a poorish list.

As long as only the coaching knowledge is imparted that's ok... but PLEASE, don't let Goody take on any of it's personality!
