Adelaide's picks have been added back in now that I've stopped banging my head against the wall. Had to move a few things around so Tim O'Brien has been added to Adelaide's tall stocks as a handy replacement for Tippett, The Hawks swoop on Ben Jacobs and Nathan Wright goes possibly a little late but takes O'Brien's spot at Port.

Jacobs put a price on his head. This rules out Hawthorn immediately.

And 63 won't be a rookie upgrade. Taylor Hine could be a good choice there.

Nice work Sin. Obviously the product of your own well researched and considered analysis, and a lot of hard work. Much obliged for your effort.

Now bring on da draft!

Hawks have cleared out Bateman, Young, Murphy, Bruce and Gilham, don't think things will be all that tight down there despite adding Lake. Jacobs might have a price, but he's not Judd. If Essendon can make a play for him after signing Goddard, the Hawks can have a look.

On the rookie upgrade, my apologies if that's wrong. I looked on the BigFooty phantom and assumed it was definitely happening. I'll look for some confirmation and if it's wrong I'll look to adjust it.

Cheers mate, already looking forward to a bigger and better one next year.

Hey Sin, how far will Ollie Wines slip if he is passed by Melbourne (Toumpas)?

Will be a great test of needs v best available at the pointy end of the draft.

Guessing their could be a bit of fun this year...

I think doggies should overlook Ollie due to making their list lopsided, something they should learn from in the past (and Carlton :p).

I also think Port might stick to a home grown talent (Mayes/Grundy/Menzel). There are some very good players and a home grown talent wont want to leave, something they have had a hard time with.

All fanciful guesswork but...I think there is a chance for Ollie to slip to Brisbane who couldn't pass him up. Vossy may see a little of himself in Ollie Wines. If not Brissy then Richmond would pounce but really, bad luck tiges, one slot too late.

Should result in Mcrae, Mayes and small chance of Vlastuin for Carlton?

At least the best drama will surround Wines at the draft.

Hey mate, he won't drop far at all. Melbourne really should take Toumpas if GWS are silly enough to overlook him which it sounds like they are but Wines is a pretty good option for them too.

I think the Bulldogs could take one more highly rated inside mid, especially when he's this good and then their midfield is set for the next ten years. They got probably three more years of early picks to build the rest of their list.

If not the Bulldogs then Port will grab him straight away, will add some serious grunt and would really complete their midfield, adding him to Boak, Hartlett, Wingard etc and things are looking good there.

I really don't think he's a chance to get to any of Brisbane, Richmond or Carlton but would be a great addition to any of them.

Cape space is there for Jacobs at Hawthorn , people forget money was left on the table when Young walked out .
SC .....Jacobs to Hawks .....hunch or you have mail ?

No mail on that one sorry dasher, just seems like a good fit with a team in their window getting a mature player as well as being a good kick which the hawks place utmost importance on.

No , your theory is sound , just hadn't heard it through my windows .....cheers SC
Just for who ever gets Jacobs ......I have a good connection at Port who tells me he's a quality kid , real professional in every sense of the work and will be a good bloke to have around your club , he/ she also believes he's still untapped.

Interesting that you're sticking your neck out with Garlett going to W.B. so early Sin, in view of all the negative reports we've heard of late.

He'll be the player I'll be most interested in, as to who will take him. Not too much to lose should a club grab him in the 30s, if indeed he does fall that far down the order.

Could see him coming straight in and contributing next year as you have another crack at the flag :thumbsu:

Yeah my phantom is done based on who I think should go there, got the predicted order in the OP. The phantom won't change and I still believe Garlett should be picked there.

He's a top five talent and I would back a professional sporting organisation to be able to handle any eighteen year old with some work ethic and attitude problems and once the penny does drop and he pulls himself into line he is going to be one hell of a player. If that takes until he's 21-22 who cares, he will be a star from then on.

I subscribe to this theory as long as a kid doesn't go out of his way to poison the group.

It would be a shame for such a young talent to be wasted this early on in their lives.
I'd be over the moon should we call out his name at #36, if indeed all the other clubs are spooked.

Yeah, they all have a lot of growing up to do at 18 years old. Some that you'd never predict will go downhill and others will turn the corner.

If we grabbed him at pick 36 I'd be thrilled, especially if these rumours about us getting Wines come true as well. Bit too hopeful on both counts I reckon.

Sin, you reckon we'd pick Menzel ahead of Mayes?
From where I sit I wouldn't do it. Mayes is an elite prospect as it is.

Our recruiters may well have the choice, they will have done enough homework on his knee so it'll be very interesting to see which way they go. Menzel is ahead on talent I have no doubt, just not sure about the knee.

I'd be happy with Menzel, but probably not if Mayes (or Macrae or Wines) are still available.
I think Wines is head and shoulders above the others. Then on talent I'd say Menzel - Mayes - Macrae but Mayes only marginally in front of Macrae. Factor in my concerns about Menzel's knee and it's Wines ----------- Mayes - Macrae --- Menzel.

I have no doubt that if available Jaksch, Kennedy and Simpson will be strongly considered as well.

Sounds like you have the same concerns as me but I'm sure our recruiters will have done their homework :thumbsu:

I'm still pretty stoked to get him :thumbsu:

Happy with how North went?
My first reaction was that we passed on a heap of talent at 15 to grab Garner (Kennedy, Grundy and Simpson) but I really haven't seen enough of Garner. We also haven't drafted anyone with an injury history since getting burnt by David Trotter about a decade ago.

The rest of our picks, couldn't be happier :thumbsu:

You did well to get him where you did. I couldn't understand the talk of him being a first rounder. Around 56? Bargain.
