Injury cloud: Steve Johnson struggles at training

Digg this Post to del.icio.us Post to Stumble Upon Post to Facebook BREAKING NEWS: GEELONG forward Steve Johnson is under an injury cloud after struggling through the Cats' training session this morning.

Johnson left the track just 25 minutes into the one hour session and did most of his training away from the main group before receiving treatment to his leg.

But Geelong assistant coach Brendan McCartney denied Johnson was injured and said he would play in tomorrow's clash with Richmond.

McCartney also said star onballer Gary Ablett would definitely line-up against the Tigers.

Ablett had been in doubt after missing the club's round seven match against Brisbane and last weekend's Hall of Fame exhibition match with a torn calf.

See tomorrow's Geelong Advertiser for the full story.

Even with these players in doubt/out all it would mean is we might get a bit closer than we would otherwise. :o

Other player in doubt was Milburn ...

Any word on how he trained?

I thought the same thing that he really looked very sore. He very rarely trains the last seesion of the week though. I think he will be alright though.

I think that if SJ got through an entire training session without any treatment or work from the trainers then you would have a more newsworthy report than this one.

Ha, just saw him saunter off there with a smile on his face - cat that got the canary, 5 goals this week.

That's the first match in about 35 from memory that Johnson has gone goalless.

He looked a bit stiff and sore but he always does.

Seemed to be away from goal a fair bit.

Hopefully he'll be good for next week.
