Magic is way too good not to use. It's awesome. About 1 million times better than it was in oblivion.

After playing this for 3 or so hours, I have concluded this is the greatest game in the history of the world. The fighting feels so ****ing good, everything looks great, everything is great! haha.

My Imperial has been going around with 1 hand using fire magic, and 1 hand using an ancient nord war axe. Im liking it. Also use a bow, but not as frequent. As usual with these games, sounding out the rest of what im gonna do. You only really use what is best available to you at the start, so that's what im doing. Level 4! :D

Really shouldnt have spent the money but after following the thread all day I bit the bullet and preordered on steam >_<

4 hrs til it unlocks.

It's a pity that Skyrim often breaks the immersion it tries so hard to create, in ways both minor and major. Some bizarre details are simply annoying. A character might initiate conversation through the ceiling. The chatter of nearby characters could drown out important story exposition. Two shopkeepers standing next to each other may be voiced by the same actor and repeat the same lines. A dragon skeleton might disappear and then later drop out of the sky in a new location. A dragon could get stuck in place, flailing about in the geometry in a mess of wings and tail. For that matter, you could get stuck in the environment, maybe just by walking into a corner, which entails either quick-traveling to a different location (if you're lucky enough to be outdoors) or loading a save game. Frame rate drops are uncommon, but you might encounter a few severe ones, and Xbox 360 system crashes might occur. The question isn't whether you will experience anomalies--it's a given. The question is: which ones and how many?

Whatever you do, don't kill the chickens :p

Im rolling an Imperial. It was so hard to decide. Love the beards though, haha.
Loving how to use magic, and the fighting actions feel really good.

What's everyone else using?
probably go nord or imperial. Sword in one hand, magic in the other. A bit of archery thrown in there. Pretty standard I guess

Just excited to see how my character evolves. This is my first real go at an elder scrolls game. I played Oblivion few years ago but i was such an RPG noob and the sheer scale of the game intimidated me. I think I gave up after 10 hours

Definitely noticed the talk of townsfolk drowning out quest info. But if you are able to, walk toward the NPC talking to you, and it's louder. It's not very annoying really.

Just had an epic battle with the first dragon. At first I thought he was an easy beat however once he turned his attention to me I was torn to shreds.

Im right there now. Have had about an hour and a bit of rest before the battle :D.

About to head back to it. Pumped.

Dark Elf, right hand Mace, left hand fire. This game is amazing. Totally makes up for pies losing the flag (only joking, but it takes some sting away:))

Dark Elf. Magic Left weapon Right. Stealing as much shit I can and just exploring. This just feels like Oblivion and it's special.

Anyone get absolutely smashed by the giant after walking up to him thinking he would be cool. I thought they weren't meant to attack unless they were attacked.

aww, so keen now. just watched bluffer guide, have played + beaten all except daggerfall.

i normally play high elf/breton (for magicka) and some kind of jack of all trades. bows, heavy armor and blades. if i want to level up early i do lots of alchemy.

i miss crossbows :(

Were the giants on the way to Whiterun? I must have gone a different way :(

Already having withdrawals. Girlfriend wanted some time with the TV, now I have to wait until she is asleep. Hopefully that is soon.

Sure... why wouldn't it be?

Because the PC version doesn't let you play until the official release date. Who knows if they will do it right on 12am.

Looking at the gamespot boards people are trying to setup VPNs to coax the computer into thinking they are from Australia.

Seems like it will release at midnight.

Origin wouldn't release FIFA 12 til like 10am.

Was doing the main quest, but as soon as I heard rumblings of the Dark Brotherhood I jumped at the chance. Loving this so far. Amazing :)

I can only think of one game I've pre-ordered (Tropico 3) that counted down and then changed the unlock time to a later date. And that's one of many. Besides, the Bethesda community manager already posted confirmation of an Aussie release first on twitter a number of times.

I wouldn't stress. We'll be playing within the hour:thumbsu:

Playing as a Redguard, with fire in my left hand and a battleaxe in my right. Game is moving pretty slowly, but that was to be expected. Getting too tired to give it my full attention now, so I'll get into it tomorrow morning (took the day off!)

Should I use a keyboard and mouse or a 360 controller on PC?

My computer is hooked up to a computer monitor in the study and a 32" tele on the wall in my bedroom and like to play games from the bed :p
