started playing it today after not getting a copy at launch. still getting used to hotkeying and combat after sinking hour upon hour into morrowind/oblivion. have already come across the multiple item - hotkey problem. with an emphasis on using two hands it seems kind of odd that i can't do shield + magic, unless i unlock that down the track or something. or that the shield is always in my left hand (unless i overlooked something).

i can see what todd meant when bows were more powerful... having to think about the trajectory is a thing of the past. level 6, i'm still yet to discover or do anything alchemical.
harvesting butterflies, lol.

landscape is about as bland as i thought it might be, seeing as it's up in the mountains and all. not that i've been very far in any direction.

Real buggy part in Markarth (? town on the far left of the map), you get locked up in jail, with the option of killing one prisoner and sneaking out or join them in their rebellion. I choose to join them initially, for them to run around killing required npcs inside the town and me failing quests, after loading an earlier save and finishing those quests, they got stuck during the rebellion waiting around attacking those npcs you cant kill. Eventually reloaded a save and killed the damn dude instead.

this game is so good, but also so addictive. 30 hours in less than a week. I usually only game 10 hours a week

Just wondering, for people who are further in the game, do you have to pick a side? It feels like the game is wanting me to pick either the Imperials or Stormclaok. I wonder if you can just ignore them?

I'm ignoring them but would be surprised if it's possible to finish the game without the picking one eventually :(

As far as I know they don't affect the main story line at all apart from some minor dialogue changes. I only just picked a side then and I'm almost finished the main story.

Just found a rather amusing glitch.
Left Whiterun and found a group of 3 guys who on closer inspection are the same guy. Not only that one is stuck up to his waist in the road

Finally got to playing this yesterday. Smashed out a fair few hours and so far the scenery and action is superb, especially the first dragon battle at whiterun looked so cool.

Currently trying to get to Ivanstead from Whiterun but keep getting f**king blocked and have to change my route! Anyone know what's the easiest way of getting there? Going around the mountain atm cos I couldn't find the way up.

****ing weak.

lol, u mad? Did I offend your internet sensibilities?

Ok. I have decided to record every glitch I encounter. Why am I doing this? I am about to tell you why I am dong this. Because Cohzee seems to enjoy my contributions. I wouldn't want to let down my biggest fans.

Early on in the piece, I was going through some dwemmer ruin and encountered a puzzle where you had to remove bones out of gears to open a door. The door opened and out comes some big piss off robot thing. It smashed me time after time, and I was completely out of health potions. Spent a fair bit of time on it. My save point was before the start of the fight, so I bailed like a girl, went all the way back to town and filled up. Came back to fight it, only to find that now when I pushed the button, the door did not open. Instead, I got the sound of it opening, and the big machine starting up, and some of its limbs clipping through the door and surrounding walls, in a vain attempt to smash my face in. Opened a few old save files, went back down, same thing. In fact, the only one that worked was the one all the way back before the original fight. I left in disgust, not wanting to finish the ruin. So the game basically wasted an hour of my life. Was I mad? Yeah, I mad.

Anyone playing on PC with constant crashes to desktop? Google the "4gb skyrim patch". Basically it lets the game use more than just 2gb of ram. I have not had a crash since :)

You're supposed to go around the mountain. Just keep following the path and watch out for street signs which will point you in the right direction

Good to know. Not really a fan of either

Can anyone give me tips on how to know which books give you skill experience?

They generally have a picture of the relevant skill tree on the front of them. For example: Destruction books will generally have this printed on the front

Heres a list of the Static spawns.

How on earth did you die to that :p Run back to the gate puzzle (pick one of 4 leavers only one opens the door) and press the close button as you run past it. Robot gets stuck behind the gate and you can pepper it with spells/arrows while dodging its flame attack.

Same bloody issue I had with Minecraft it seems lol.

INSTALLING.

So I bought it, even though I've got another copy on the way from o/s. Picked up the new rig and monitor today and figured I may as well get my game on, I've gotta be up early anyway :D

Hoho, this thing is a beast and I can't wait to login... :D teehee.
