poor form Sloane :thumbsd:
Edwards is going through an emotional time with his retirement and you go and ask him for his number?

ps. I hope Armstrong keeps 38 and doesn't try to get 23, I dont want my guersey to become useless :(

Presumably he has to wait till 2011 though?

Not sure. Didnt Farmer do that? He went from 33 to 8 or something (at melbourne), decided his form sucked so changed back. Thought he did it mid year but I may be wrong.

Cant see why they wouldnt be able to. Players have worn different numbers mid game thanks to the blood rule.

just quitely, Stabby are you spewing that you'll have to get a new number?

I think you're right.

Having said that for whatever reasons sports organisations are always rather particular about their players numbers despite the fact in this day and age it matters little!

sloaney probably joked about it with him by sitting at his locker etc.... and Zooma probably thought it would be nice to hand it over. Wonder if Sloane will wear it post freo game?

btw - the last North Adelaide player to get handed down a great number of the AFC was Greg Gallman :o

Is this a bad omen for Sloane?

Riggy IMO your a probably a little more sensitive than Zoomer

I actually believe Zoomer would take the approach from Sloane as a sign of respect :thumbsu:

That article is from 2.30, the interview 4.30.

Hardly invalidates the thread.

Wasn't my point. Gee, even the sensible posters are irritable and defensive this week.

I was saying that Zoomer was looking to pass off his jumper. Some of the posts seem to be implying that Sloane spray painted a line through Edwards' name on the #9 locker already without asking.

Title is misleading. The way I heard it, he didn't actually say he would give Sloane the number. Cornes/Rowe just suggested Sloane and he says he would be very open to the idea because he rates Sloane as a player and person.

Fair play.

Ok, maybe ive misheard...

The context to me suggested it was a done deal (not sure why theyd pick Rory randomly out of the crowd for example), but if ive jumped the gun, then fair enough.

Perhaps add a question mark to the title mods.

Would be nice for Sloane to make #31 his own and make that jumper special by Sloane becoming a champion player with the AFC. Who is the most recognised player to wear #31? Marsh, Feilke or someone else? Don't know
