Current Smithfield man kidnapped from his home, held hostage & tortured at Belmore for 6 days

The 26yo man who was abducted from his home by men wielding a sledgehammer and carrying firearms is not known to police. It's alleged the man was taken hostage with the aim of extorting money from his family and associates. Six men have been arrested.

Poiice used an armoured Bearcat, stun grenades and carried assault weapons on the raid to free the hostage who had been tortured for six days being beaten severely and having his teeth forcibly removed.

Abductors might have kidnapped the wrong person.

The hostage Peter Vuong, was staying at Timothy Bowyer's parents house. A crypto trader was sent ransom text messages but the crypto trader is a relative of the Bowyer family, not Vuong.
