After that brisbane may take 1 more, they are keen on Bennier, Nth may have to match a Harvey bid, Gws might take Rowston or Madden really late or match on either if needed but hope 1 or both get through to the rookie draft. All of that would take it to around 55/56 picks in my opinion.
Yeah I couldn’t go past Clarke with that last pick which was too early for any of the other big guys although Barnett at your first is a possibility.Great job Smythe. Pretty perfect draft for Collingwood in Hayes/Keeler/Clarke.
Basically who’d Id select at our respective picks and addresses most of our pressing needs.
(If Keeler wasn’t available I hope it would be Hayes, Clarke, Lemmey)
I assume we’d then go looking for a development ruck in the rookie or preseason draft.

Carlton can't trade next year's first without getting a future 3rd back. So, if you're suggesting we'd then have to add extra to sweeten the deal for North, I'm not sure what that would look like. Pick 28? Can't see us doing that deal. Not for Tsatas, when there are likely to be players like Humphrey, Hewett, Hollands or Hotton (the 4 "H"'sMaybe they don’t, maybe they do, there is word they have interest in Jefferson, so this way it makes sense, they get him and a future first whilst also having a pick in the top 3 giving them 1 of the clear top 5 kids of the year and several first rounders next year. Something else may have to come with that sort of trade as a sweetener as Carlton will be banking on improving that draft pick next year so let’s say 10 and 12 for 3, nth would probably get something else thrown in If they were to do it.
Lemmey definitely came into consideration for Geelong late as did Phillips for Essendon. Lemmey has shown the talent and Phillips may go in the ND as he has probably shown a bit more than some of the kids this year but I left them to the rookie draft.

No way north trade pick 3 and especially not to carlton.
Like the rest.
I would prefer us to take a tall lemmey northam broadbent phillips all options - with our r3 pick.
The deal seems fair ..which to me means it probably dos not get done. 4<> 11 plus FR1 (lest say P12 +/- a few spots). Id think it's going to have to be too good to ignore.
I can’t see teams being interested in trading back in this draft unless they get a really strong offer.
It looks a shallow pool and a big drop offs from 10, then 20 and then 30…. after that, it’s just speculative picks.
Broad bent came into consideration as did lemmey for one of geelongs late picks, and it may happen but there is a few that through injury this year fell off the map, maybe rookie spots for those types for Geelong unless Northam is there and available at that second pick perhaps.Nice job...its difficult task to be true to your own thoughts on what you think others might do..
From Geelong POV... Id hope we do not take three mids...after a very strong mid draft last year. We have two 30 plus rucks, Blitz is almost a ruck that is 31 and 1/2 ... We almost lost Sav... and then there is Conway. We delisted a Rookie Ruck. ..and so thin in KPD and a lot all riding on Conway.
Is there a late pick KPP/Ruck type that would be more worth a try.
I'd hope we add something different to just more mids that will without a doubt just get churned out with lack of opportunity. If Clark doesn't make it to us Id not put it beyond the possibility of a geelong trading down from P7 and into next year.. if they do not see the right player.
This makes a lot of sense. No doubt the kangas want high talent this year, but what im hearing is they would prefer to invest in next years draft as waiting 1 yr to get stronger talent for the longer term play is the preferred option. Jefferson is a real option for them as well and I would not be surprised if he lands at the kangas.Maybe they don’t, maybe they do, there is word they have interest in Jefferson, so this way it makes sense, they get him and a future first whilst also having a pick in the top 3 giving them 1 of the clear top 5 kids of the year and several first rounders next year. You've forgotten? that the Saints have two 2nd round picks & think Van Es is too early there & D'Aloia is too similar to the mids we have..PHANTOM DRAFT

And the fact the draft will not be large in numbersHave you got anything on Will Dowling, if the Saints go tall early, wondering if he could be the big bodied midfielder that we grab. And my mistake, I actually have Van Es around your mark, on a needs basis & the fact, he tested well.
Good effort and interesting draft haul - eagles would be pleased I reckon with your picks, but I think your pick prices for the clubs trading up are off by some way.And the fact the draft will not be large in numbers
Yeah I covered those in previous posts. A new one coming out end of the week with a few different choices, plus a few extra tidbits as wellGood effort and interesting draft haul - eagles would be pleased I reckon with your picks, but I think your pick prices for the clubs trading up are off by some way.
For example, no way is a future 1st from Carlton who one would expect that to be a teens pick, along with 11, getting exchanged for 4. Would need a second rounder too at the the VERY least.
No one is swapping two teens picks for pick 4.
For some precedent, in 2019, GWS haded over pick 6 & a F1 for pick 4.
That is the real cost of getting into the top 5 or so of the national draft.
Also I wouldn’t say that pick 19 & 32 are buying pick 12 on draft night. The F3 is just about worthless in those kind of transactions too. I’d have said you would need some thing like pick 17 & 20 for pick 12. See Carlton in 2019 AFL draft when they slid back from 11 to approx 17 and 20 or so to get kemp and Philp.
I reckon the price of a live trade up the board on draft night is about 30 to 40% more than during trade week too.
